does the timing belt for for the 1kz work on the 1 hd?

Hmm, isn't a 1KZ a V6 and 1HD a inline 6?
Maybe a bit more info will help? Where are you located? What year is your rig?

no the 1kz is a 4 cyl. diesel engine....the 1 HD-t is a inline 6 turbo diesel..similar to a 1 hz if not i think looks the same to me...i am removign the timing belt tomorrow...so will have more info as i go along...

1HD-T and 1HZ are interchangeable .. but 1KZ-T it complete diferent engine ..

Toyota made 1HZ/HD belt changes easier than changing oil. Not very easy to do gears in an OHC engine, and the benefits are a quieter, smoother engine.

1HZ timing belt- 13568-19065
1KZ-TE timing belt- 13568-69085

both about $25 from Toyota

last year I replace the TB in my 1HD-T and the " kit " belt + tensioner was about 110 bucks ..and was in a discount offer .. ( local monopoly sucks ! )

am in trinidad in the caribbean...timing belt is 120US...tensioner is 200us....and they have to order it...the timing belt is realy easy to change for real.....


u all ever experience the longevity and power and reliability of a TD2.7Turbo or a qd3.2 nissan engine...
?? tehy go ryt up to 500oookm without a hiccup..once u change oil and have proper cooling..

well its about similar in design--- only c.c difference...... plus the td2.7 is turbo..
