I just purchased a 67 fj45 lwb pickup. I would like to find out more about it and didn't know if someone offered a service similar to the Marti reports done on ford's.

Thanks for any info

where are you located?
I remember a 1967 locally with a plow years ago.
you joined 8 years ago and this is your first post?

There is no such report for Land Cruisers. However, the story of that truck in listed on the side. It looks like it was a shop truck for a place that specialized in British cars. I hope you don't repaint this truck.

Unfortunately even the total number of 45’s (and the breakdown of models) imported into the US is often a disputed topic. I’ve seen multiple numbers….but nothing concise from Toyota.

We love pics and background stories of the old 45’s. Care to share?

if it is the one I'm thinking of it was at a repair shop in Butte when I first saw it. 14-15 years ago, talked to the shop owner, he said he wasn't sure what the owner was going to do, the shop was having issues with the carb flooding the engine, IIRCC. left my #.
went thru town a year later, the shop moved across town, stopped in and talked with him again, he said it was sold to somebody who came in with cash and it was gone.
the owner wasn't a person but a large orginisation.
I did know who owned it originally, and IIRCC, it was registered as a 1968 according to the paperwork in the glove box.

are you the guy who has a wanted post on craigslist?

From what I understand, I baught it from the family that owned it originally. The father passed away in 07, and it's been sitting ever sense......outside. funny enough the carburator is off, rebuilt and sitting on the front seat. It has forty thousand original miles and came with paperwork verifying milage at thirty five thousand. The dad owned a Toyota dealership in great falls and it was shop truck for his dealership. The address is hand painted on the doors and back cab. The truck was originally blue. I asked the family how they would like the truck be restored. They responded, keep the paint and advertising as is. So that's what I'll do. The bigger question for me is, do I put power brakes / steering on so it's more drivable or keep it factory. For now it's going in the garage for safe keeping.

The add on Craig's list is my buddy's, he saw what I scored and now he's looking😎

that is a different one than I am thinking about
nice find

you had the info above and you are looking for more info?

Honestly, I'd keep it 100% stock. That's part of the fun IMO. Getting to know the feel of the manual brakes, shifting with a column stick, the crappy gearing at high speeds, etc. Good stuff. But that's just my opinion, and you know about those.

As far as a Marty type report, there just isn't enough information available for each vehicle sold in the US like the data that Marty obtained.

That being said, there really aren't many bells and whistles on these old tractors to pull numbers on to begin with. There were however many changes over the years, some even mid-year to the basic FJ40 design. So what you can get from here is a very good analysis of what is correct for the year of your vehicle. And what would be period correct or dealer "additions" (ex: A/C). There are people on this forum that have been doing this for decades and can spot a reflector or switch or even a hinge that is not period correct.

Flip the bezel. 🚨
