The extra real estate under the hood and the simplicity of what's left is nice, though.

These are some diagrams I made up a long time ago and posted on the web and mentioned on the LCML. I have since seen my diagrams posted on various sites.
This one is a Jim Chenoweth edited copy of my emissions diagram that I sent him and he then sent back marking what needs to come off/out:

This is the piping schematic I drew up based on the component diagram above and then had JimC approve it:

The schematics came from an '86 Emissions book and I applied them to my '85 60 with no problems. I knew the schematic inside and out and could apply it blindfolded on any 2F back then,,,it's been a long time since I had to do a de-smog however and I prolly forgot a lot.
Since I am getting relocated to Denver for my job, I guess I will have to un-desmog my 40.

We had the unsmogged 3F carbed engine until 94 in a 7* series. This is the 3F in my 73 series,factory unsmogged.
All of the hoses on the right are for the aircon fast idle up.
These had a different carb to the 2F
I could hit 90 mph with the right wind
.(the 73 is a bit lighter than a 60
)
