a buddy of mine had the idea of putting a dodge 5.7 liter hemi engine into his fj40. can it be done?

July 2005 issue of Four Wheeler is doing that same mod, but for a TJ - Project Teal-J pg. 74. They are having Mepco do the install. Teraflex supplied allot of prefabbed parts - motor mounts, gas pedal assy., & modified the stock harness to work with the Hemi PCM. Not being a wiring guru, I would think mating harnesses would be the biggest task. Next month they are going to show the cooling, exhaust & tranny parts of the conversion.

I would MUCH rather have a Small Block Chevy.
It is all about the brag factor.. What can be done is not always the best idea. originality is novel ;)

kinda like a turbo 2F..

WHY

do something do it right, 426 hemi

Because to do that to a 426 HEMI would be a crime.

when you run 44's, go hardcore rock crawlin', and mud boggin' in pits you cant imagine, you need 500 horses. trust me

From what i've gathered AA bell housing, nv4500 to atlas 5.0 only adater being the bellhousing. The smaller hemi are alluminum and much cheaper then lsl's and good hp. Imagine injection out of phoinex az is the man on this (Bob Reem) he doing this alot as well as escalade motors.

Not too many ways to make a 500 horse LT1 cheap. 427 stroker with heads/cam/reprogram and maybe a power adder or two would be my choice but then the motor is worth more than the car it's in ('96 Z28 in my case  ). Fun to dream about though!
