Just looking for measurements on the following Dobinsons coils for my GX. Dobinsons lift measurements are based on the Prado, which from what I find on the interweb seems to be anywhere from 200-500 pounds lighter than the gx470.

C59-505 - 1.5” lift 405mm free height 220lb rate

C59-599 - 1” lift 395mm free height 220lb rate

Trying for a mild lift / air bag elimination in the rear, already have Metal Tech conversion kit, but looking for that perfect spring that will ride nice empty, and not sag too much when loaded for camping / road trip.

My stock measurement from center of hub to bottom of fender is:
Rear (in "N" height): 21.5"
Rear (in "H" height): 22.5"

Front (will need to level things out in the future): 19.5"
The GX has 195k miles on it and no plans for sliders, bumpers, or other heavy stuff. Mostly wifes daily driver that goes camping / roadtripping a few times a year. If we go camping somewhere real rough - we take the 80.
Thanks!

You may want to check into Dobinsons variable rate rear springs.

Rear Coil Options, even left to right height **Can be used on a KDSS vehicle if you offset the rear. Only the front OR the rear need the offset height coils
C59-323 - Stock height rear coils, same specs as rear TRD Pro OE coils, 375/375mm, 17mm wire, 220LB
C59-599 - Stock rear end, 1.0"-1.25" lift (keeps rear end low, allowing to help level the vehicle rake with 2" front lift). 390/390mm, 17mm wire, 220LB
C59-505 - Stock rear end load, 1.5" lift. 405/405mm, 17mm wire, 220LB
C59-325 - Stock rear end load, 2.0" to 2.25" lift. 420/420mm, 17mm wire, 220LB
C59-327 - 200-400LB heavy rear load weight, 2" lift. 410/410mm, 18mm wire, 271LB
C59-329 - 600-800LB super ridiculous heavy rear load weight, 2" lift. 410/410mm, 18mm wire, 286LB
C59-675V - Variable rate comfort option, stock rear weight, 3" lift. 470/470mm, 16mm wire, 157-230LB variable
C59-677V - Variable rate comfort option, 400+LB heavy rear load weight, 3" lift. 500/500mm, 16mm wire, 157-230LB variable
C59-701V - Variable rate, 600+ LB heavy rear load weight, 3" lift, long travel. 500/500mm, 17mm wire, 210-245LB variable. Designed for those with heavy full rear bumper, tire carrier, roof rack, RTT, drawers, and fridge. Rides very well with all that weight, as well as when loaded even further.

I am running a rear drawer system and tow a small camper so went with the C59-677V. I have not installed yet. Waiting on a backordered item.

Reach out to Kyle at Treaty Oak Offroad and he will set you up.

I believe that Kyle posted that his Gx470 got a 1.75” rear lift with these Dobinson rear springs: C59-675V - Variable rate comfort option, stock rear weight, 470/18.503”, 16mm wire, 157-230LB variable.
So the posted 4Runner numbers don’t match what you get on a gx470 and I only wish someone would post the approximate gx470 lift numbers for the Dobinson coils. We need specs for the gx470

Yes sir- that's what I'm trying to figure out. Our trucks weigh what 4700-4800 pounds stock. Most of the time I'm rolling around with 1 3rd row seat for the dog- and the dog in the back- he's spoiled and likes the leather.

@Source3 if you can, post your rear numbers before and after the coil conversion hub to fender. I would like to know how much lift you get out of the C59-677V coils. These look as long as the long travel ones but softer spring rate

The previous link was for the 4th gen 4runner. Here is a link for the 5th gen which includes the v8 engine.

Will do. It will be another month or so - UCAs are backordered. Below are my part numbers for a 2.5" lift with a HD front and medium rear. Keep in mind I already have extra weight of a metaltech front bumper and winch, full roof rack, and rear drawer system. I will be installing Firestone air bags to help with heavier loads while towing a trailer .

Dobinsons 2.5" HD suspension kit - twin tube, HD front/Med rear
  • C59-352 (front coil) - 200-240LBS heavy load front weight, 2.0-2.25" lift. 385/385mm, 18mm wire, 730LB
  • GS59-221 - Twin Tube, fixed mount (not adjustable), suits 0-2.5" lift (21.3" extended length), can be used on stock height or lifted vehicle, use with OE or aftermarket coils, coil seat mount same as OE. Diff drop kit not needed
  • C59-677V (rear coil) - Variable rate comfort option, 400+LB heavy rear load weight, 3" lift. 500/500mm, 16mm wire, 157-230LB variable
  • GS59-701 (rear shock) - Twin Tube, suits 0-2" lift. 605mm extended, 362mm compressed
  • UCA59-002K - Front UCA Set with Senkei 555 Ball joints
How it sits now before the lift.
