Does anyone have a Dobinsons MRR (Monotube Remote Reservoir) suspension on 200 Series Land Cruiser? I am curious how high anyone raised their cruiser and how it rides? My recently purchased 2021 came with the kit on it but the front was only raised about 1 1/2 inches. I am being told if I raise it another inch it will ride rough, just not sure I believe it.

You can raise the front by adjusting the threaded spring perch on the shock body. This increases spring preload and will have an affect on the ride quality. You can also change the spring to a different (longer) spring designed for a higher ride height. This should not increase ride harshness, depending on which spring you select. I suggest you contact @crikeymike and tell him what you're trying to accomplish. He's the Dobinsons expert.

Other things to think about. If you go from 1.5" to 2.5", you'll likely need upper control arms (if you don't already have them) to keep alignment in spec.

Thank you for reply. I do have the upper control arms and just bought new springs in case they are needed. If you think that will help with the ride quality then I will probably just take the leap. I am having 4WP do the work and they don’t carry dobinson so I was hesitant to follow their advice.

I have MRR from exit offorad on mine. In front im running C59-544 springs and have zero preload. Fender Height from hub is roughly 22 3/4s

How is the ride? What size tires are you running?
Ride is great now that I have the settings right. Ive got dissent Front/Rear with winch so Ive got some extra weight. Currently on 285/75/17s but 35 kendas are going on next week.

I need tires soon and looing at putting on 305 x 70x 17 but want the 315 x 70 x17 but think they will be too big. Currently have 285x75x17 and they are great.

The ride will change not exactly in ride quality, but handing dynamics. Beyond 2" of lift, the suspension will be outside of it's design geometry and will have negative impacts such as bump steer, toe stear, reduced stability, poor dynamics, etc.

If you want more lift, do it in staggered fashion using other knobs than just suspension lift. Namely, body lift and tire lift. That will make for an overall higher performing vehicle.

I'd suggest that you leave it alone. 1.5" is a pretty good spot to be in for ride and performance on these trucks. Raising it another inch won't make any difference in tire clearance in the areas where you're likely to hit with 305s (a fat 34) or 315s (a fat 35). You'll definitely have to address the rear of the front fender well, KDSS Bar rub on the drivers side, and potentially fender clearance at the top of the wheel well depending on the offset of your rims. The front fenders on these trucks is not set up great for big wide tires. Check a few of @TeCKis300 's threads in his signature above, he's done the wide tires as well as anyone, albeit on a LX. You'll likely need to do everything he shows, AND deal with the KDSS Rub. An extra inch of suspension height is the least of your worries, particularly if you go as far as 315s.

Also, 4WP is the Walmart of offroad shops. I wouldn't have them do anything more difficult than mounting tires and wheels IMO, and that's based on experience with multiple different locations of myself and others I know. The 200 isn't that complicated, but there are nuances to doing it right that is more challenging than slapping an angry grill and some 35s on 24s on a wrangler.

Thank you for the feed back.
