I thought my 2000 100 series had doors that locked when I got to 10 MPH's am I wrong. I have looked in my manual and can not find anything on it. If it does how do you program it

I have a 2007 LC and the doors do automatically lock as soon as you put it in drive and get going.

99 doesn't. Only auto function I've noticed was that if you unlock with the fob and don't open a door it relocks itself after a bit.

My ES does this too, and I hate it.

But I believe my car will also automatically lock itself if you get out of it and walk away. It's a lot longer wait time, but many times I've left it unlocked in the garage and come out the next morning and it's been locked.

you can swin by the dealership and have them hook up the computer and change the settings up

Unfortunately, you need the Toyota scan tool ($$$) to change these settings. I do not know if all the Lexus settings are available on the LC either.

Anyone know of a way to disable the autolock when engaging drive in the later model 100's? Drives my family nuts.

My 4Runner can be set to work with the gear shift or at speed or not at all. Even different for lock and unlock. The instructions are in the owner's manual. I would bet that if your system is user changeable, it would be described in your owner's manual too.

If not the dealer will probably do it for a fee......

I used the method described in the other thread of holding the unlock button for 5 seconds within 3 seconds of turning the ignition on and now the locks lock and unlock with the gear selector. This is a marked improvement, but still not 100% what we're after.

I guess we'll have to track down a competent dealer in our area to see if what we want is possible. Unfortunately the local one is more incompetent than a monkey trying to fly an airplane.

I don't have the manual nearby, but the one for my '04 gives detailed intructions. Perhaps you can download it online.

rtfm ftw - or check the newbie thread because there is a link to programming the locks - the locks are one of the things that can be programmed without stealership help.
