There's a perimeter trail that has no obstacles. We had fun on it.
We'll see what we can do between no and then about obstacles in the level 2 range. There's one section that is easily a level 2 and it's a fun little section. There will be more of those sections like this

So does the weekend of July 31 seem better for everyone?
brett, any WE-MOTE event going on that weekend? Ity appears everyone likes that date better...

Nope, the WEROCK event is the 24-25. Last weekend in July should be good.

Jeremy-had my months crossed up, I think July 31 is good. Weekend after that is the Morris race and not SETO.

Nothing is good for me until November..any openings then?

I think my second check ride is that next week.

Seriously though we might make a day trip of it. But unless he makes some significant changes and trails that can keep me busy there just isn't really any thing there for us at this point.

Family orientated? Kids? Dogs? Cost? Trailer hook ups?

go look at my pics on FB and the albums I'm tagged in... we spent about 2 hours on the perimeter trail on Saturday goofing off... it' easy enough for a stock truck but fun with a group... you'll get slightly muddy but not real bad...

Yes to family, dogs, and cost is something we need to come up with.... no hook ups out there yet though.

It might be a day ride for me on July 31st, but I am going to do my best to make it up since it's right up the road!

Werd, you need to come next time they're open! you are too close not to...

Brett, maybe now that we have a date, we should approach John with it. And post the date on other clubs forums to get interest.

All the guys who have never met anyone... this is a great meet n greet.... Come join us, you can be a winner too!

Is this still on?

We discussed this at the last meating down here and since the only ones interested were actually just us here, then... we're not sure. The following weekend is an open ride and there is no point in trying to get local music friend and the hassle of telling John the owner that 30 rigs are coming if in fact they aren't coming....

I think people might be scared off by the harder trails.

Not to be a downer or anything, but here is how I see it.

The park just doesn't have enough trails and/or obstacles to kill more than one day for any group, be it "hardcore" or "stockish" people.
The "Harder" trails consist of about five or six different obstacles that are all confined to a five acre area and the "stockish" trail is a couple miles long and can be done in an hour or so if you kept it in low range the entire time.

I had a good time just riding the perimeter trail, but I think he should incorporate various other obstacles/alternate trails/ bypasses at different places along the trail.
That would give everybody more to do than hanging around that one group of obstacles all day long.

That being said, I am all for supporting our local park and have been there every day that it has been open (assuming I was in town) and I will be there again this Saturday. :hillbilly:

PS.

Feel free to forward this to John as I think he should read it.

And before anybody jumps my ass, I do understand that things take a while to progress to a full blown "Rock-Crawling Park".
The problem, as I see it, is that you have to have enough to draw in a "New" crowd every weekend and still be able to retain your local/everyday customers. I'm glad it is not my job to make that happen!
