I replaced the cap and rotor on my '87, started right up and ran fine for about 1 minute, then died. It would not start up again, so I pulled the distributor cap off and found the rotor destroyed. The brass contact strip was broken completely off, the rest of it was melted and twisted. Anybody ever hear or see anything like this? I put the old rotor back on and it started right up. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
