Hey fellas, I received the disbributor cap, rotor, wire harness from Cdan. Also replacing sparks. Looking at where the distributor cap is, will I need to remove all the stuff up top (intake, hoses, etc) inorder to replace the distributor cap & wiring? Or is there enough room to remove it & replace everything? I have a FJ80 with the 3FE engine.

TIA

You should be able to get to the dizzy without removing everything. A short stubby ratchet makes it easier.

Cool, going to change it out today...sparks are fried, don't know how old the wires are but I would guess '92. Hope I feel a dramatic improvement afterwards :D

The wires (if they're OEM) will have a date code printed on them.

You don't need to remove anything to get to it IIRC. 20 minutes I think is what it took me all together.

i just did mine & just removed the for spark plug cover. unbold the old wire & put new one easy as that

Got this done today along with a ATF drain & fill and greased the joints. The old plugs were bosch platinum with the 4 prongs. The prongs were all jacked up & some were black. Gaps were all uneven. New ones are OEM. I'll take some pics tomorrow. This was a HUGE improvement! The RPMs climb so much eagerly and the sound is even different! Sounds nicely tuned. Acceleration is definitely better, so much funner to drive & even rev in neutral hehehe.

This is most noticeable improvement I've done so far and it's just by using new OEM parts!
