OK GRRRRR drivers side rear axle is leaking so I go to change the seal only problem is Differential shaft pin is broken so I cant remove the shaft. Anyone know how I can get it out? If I pound on the shaft can I snap the bolt or is that a bad idea I tried use a bolt extractor but cant get a good angle and dont want to make it worse.

When you try and drive the broken shaft through the pin, you will likely ruin the differential case, (cast piece that the ring gear attaches to) resulting in the need of replacement.

Been there, done that.

How hard would it be to drill from the end of the cross-shaft close to the edge so it cut the retaining bolt?

Call it done. If its not a built 3rd, just replace...

You can try sticking a 2 inch piece of 3/32 inch 7018 welding rod to the remains of the pin by momentarily energizing it with a welder for less than 1 second. Just enough to stick the rod to the remains so that you can pull it out, but not enough heat to weld it up in the hole. Check the threaded end to see if there are any threads remaining on the pin so you can decide whether you need to turn it or not. Probably not. If it doesn't work, you are still fudged.
