Difference in starters on the 4.7 (1 Viewer)

Just curious... when I swapped the tundra motor (2004) into the Lexus (2001) the starter was much bigger on the lexus than the starter from the tundra... so I used the Lexus starter (is bigger better)
either would have worked i know but is one better than the other... both were toyota.. this may have been addressed but just curious if i made the right choice... I did get to look at it 2x since I forgot to plug the solenoid wire and had to go back a pull the manifold (what a bonehead)

There are two different starters available for your engine, and either one will fit. The “normal” starter is the 1.4 kilowatt model. That’s what I had in my truck. There’s also a 2.0 kilowatt starter, which is more powerful and beneficial if you live in a cold area. Ok this was bothering me and only found one place in my searches that mentioned it... seems most LX470 have the 2kw starter from the factory... and most toyota branded trucks have the 1.4kw as just a guess i'd say the 2kw is about 3lbs heavier..

US market 100's only came with 2.0 KW starters. Tundras come with 1.4 or 2.0 KW starters depending on.... ????

that explains it... the smaller 1.4 starter was on the tundra engine I swapped into the lexus... I used the older lexus starter... I tried to do a quick search (on my phone) before I committed to the swap... but found nothing

that was quoted from the web..... not from me.... Then I found where it showed all the lexus lx470's had the 2kw
