Canyon...LOL again. I remember when I got a Tundra for a week, chicks were drooling over me.

A girl asked my buddy once "does his wife wear the pants?" when he showed up in his Land Cruiser. She then turned to me and the Tundra and took her top off, I took her to the Canyon after that.

I know two things...

***I'm not interesting in ANY chick that wants a guy for his pickup.

***The chick better be interested in ME instead of what I own/drive or I don't want her.

They were probably trying to lay some eggs too. Unless one was a rooster, you can't really tell at that age...

And why did you only have the Tundra for a week? You broke a control arm on the front suspension on a backwoods trail and couldn't get it out?

You should tell me where it is! I want some of the parts.

Shotts here is on a rampage of wisdom.

And to eat on when stopped during wheeling trips!

And to cook on, set your drink on, slide a fridge or box out on...the list goes on and on. In this case, it's one example of where Toyota stayed true to function.

Have you seen the newest model? Apparently Dodge didn't want to be outdone in the ugly department.

Interesting. I think the new body design is far and away better as compared to what they had previously. But they sucked it up like everyone else and went 4 wheel independent suspension.

When you think about it, how many wagons are left in the US that have a solid rear axle?

- 200 LC
- 4Runner
- Xterra
- Jeep has a few (Wrangler 4 door, Commander, probably 1 or two others)
- ?

Not that this post is on topic, but does it really matter at this point. :meh:

For towing = Sequioa, wider, better rear end for towing, load leveling. LC has good payload, but too small wheelbase, width to make the difference
For people moving = Sequioa, this is a no brainer
For moving a total of four = tie
For design = tie
For personal use = Land Cruiser
For payload = Land Cruiser for fully loaded, Seqiuoa for lower trim such as SR5
For off-roading = very slight edge Sequioa (Land Cruiser ground clearance and angles really suck)....Sequoia higher ground clearance and height adjustable raise angles. KDSS is front the midsize GX/4runner, Sequoia uses 100 series AVS
For tail gate sitting = Land Cruiser
For loading in the rain = Sequioa
For what would worry me more if it broke down in the wild = tie
For on-road comfort = tie, edge goes to Sequoia
For macho men = Sequioa
For women = Land Cruiser (Taylor Swift included)

I still stand by this but I have adjusted the off-roading

Them clamshell hatches have to be the niftiest thing ever. I cannot tell you how much I use it for laying out toolboxes or extending my cargo area when needed. Design win.
So true - the clam shell hatch is brilliant. Anyone who has actually used it would probably agree.

I woudn't call it brilliant, more like 80s.

Loading and unloading become difficult. You can't get the farther stuff and you can't push as far.

The best design is that of the 4runner. Pull out option, lift up and roll down window.

...

It's also worth mentioning that the newest Xterra model will be unibody, based off the Rogue chassis, so that's one more decent 4X4 that's become a "soft-roader".

I guess your one of those "nice guys who finish last"

I've been told that a wise man is happy with what he has.B: Plus one :princess: is enough in my book.

pagemaster, i'm calling BS. men that that happens to don't feel such an intense need to feed their ego with flash. they've got it, the women know it, and life is too good to be spending hours trolling websites.

the 200 has no flash. looks like a highlander from a distance. just another reason i love it. i know you are too young to understand, but being Clark Kent is pretty awesome.

X2. Nothing like Jeep owners going "I got my butt kicked by THAT?!"

I didn't know you own a 4runner as well. Seems like you own every 4wd vehicle on the market. The 4Runner is my 2nd favorite owned vehicle behind the LC. However, I don't love the 4Runner rear hatch nearly as much as the split hatch on the LC.

-I'm sure that after years of 4Runner ownership you must have experienced groceries smashing onto the driveway when you open the door. This happened at least 1x a month in my runner. This doesn't happen in my LC.

-I'm sure you've also wished you had a flat space somewhere in the back on long road trips when the back is full. I know I did with my 4Runner. I've changed countless baby diapers on the bottom half of the drop down door of the LC. It's also a great space for changing muddy boots or snow covered ski boots, to keep messes out of the vehicle.

-Perhaps a really short or weak person might have issues pushing or pulling things to the end of the cargo area. I have never experienced that issue. Oddly my 5'4" 72 year old father in law has not had that issue in my LC either.

Tailgate - this is also the preferred seating for all the women when we tailgate prior to college football games! :)
Tailgate - can left down transport really long items

UZJ, I'm out of touch. Married with 2 babies I hadn't even fathomed the benefit of a drop down hatch and seating for pretty laides when tailgating.

Bottom hatch up and I've got a great playpen area for my babies to play while I get stuff organized in the car.

The rear window of the 4runner is pretty narrow. Big wide items don't fit out very well. Even with the hatch door up, the LC opening is very wide. Hatch down and you have an extra 18" or so of level space to rest things on.

Pagemaster, you've probably experienced this with your 4runner as well? Since you're a 4Runner owner you've probably also felt uncomfortable putting heavy loads on top of the window when it's down. Even though it's fully ressesed you still fell like one good bump could damage the motor or glass.
