Diff Lock Mod w/o pin#7?

You don't HAVE to do the pin 7 mod, it just helps with shift points.

pin 7 mod does not effect shift points, pin 19/9 mod does, the earlier method of unplugging the plug on the transfer witch did affected locker operation and shift points

Without the pin 7 mod the switch gets you locking/unlocking of the center diff lock in high range only. It will still lock on its own when you shift into low regardless of cdl switch position.

pin 7 mod interrupts the 4-low signal to the locker ecu preventing it from locking the center in low and you now have full control of center locker with the switch in high or low.

If you want more info there was a very recent long thread on this that gets deeper.

Yeah, I know about the tech. zone on slee's page ;) I just didn't know that you could do the switch by itself.

Okay, here in a day or two I will receive my '79-'85 Minitruck Aisin hubs to do the freewheel mod on my '93(add hubs and remove front driveshaft). Gas prices are just stupid and my mileage goes down when I use the A/C.

Will I "have to" do the pin 7 mod to lock the center diff in 4-high?

I'm getting confused.

Jody.
