I just did a front end rebuild all seals wipers bearings ect. refilled diff and now have fluid leaking out of breather hose even with the breather removed when diff heats up with highway driving 10-20 miles. Did I over fill it? I capped it up with the fluid still runnig out. I think that my problem. Seals were new and axles had no wear to impede seal contact. I'm sure there is no grease getting sucked into the diff to raise the level of the fluid. I never overfilled a diff. before but if it is overfilled would fluid be pushed out of the hose when it gets hot? If it was overfilled would it have pushed fluid passed the axles seals into the knuckle or just been pushed up and out the hose?

Thanx
George

Is the hose plugged? Maybe it's not allowing the housing to breathe. I would start with pulling the fill plug, and let the excess lube out.

I asume the hose is clear if the fluid got pushed out. after I drained it I removed the hose and it was clear. I'm going to refill it on level ground this time.

It was indeed overfilled. I opened the filler let the excess drain out and then drove it over 100 miles today with no leaks.

Cool yes you sould always try to do this on level ground
