Can anyone assist. I have a 1995 KZJ78 which I run on bio fuel during the summer months. As soon as the temperature drops to about +3 degrees she doesn't want to start. The problem is bio fuel gels above freezing so I have to employ the help of a hair drier. It always works! This winter I lost my oil supplier and have had to reluctantly use garage fuel. After 2 months she is being reluctant to start again. On investigation, the fuel lines at the pump are all empty. My question is, " is there a non return valve somewhere in the system." I know bio fuel is not good for rubber parts. I know nothing about the fuel pump so any clues or pictures would be invaluable.

Gotta be careful with bio-fuel; it tends to rust the injection system from the inside out! All your fuel savings can end up being spent repairing your injection system.

Anyhow, usually air in the lines means a leak somewhere. A common spot is the primer (thing that fuel filter attaches to). If pumping it isn't bringing fuel to the lines, then you know you're onto something. Try changing your fuel filter also, and check the filter on the pick-up in the fuel tank. Fuel tank might be growing algae.

Thanks guys, Fuel lines empty this morning. Presuming the large black button on top of the fuel filter housing is the primer, continual pressing produced nothing. I filled the filter and pipe lines by hand and managed to start the beast having flattened 3 batteries. She then ran fine. Pressing the black button I now felt hard resistance. Any clues as to what there is between the filter and tank fuel?
