Did I get a good deal on a used 200 Series LC?

👋 Hi! I have been looking at LCs, mostly 100's, for a long time, almost 3 years TBO. Mostly on CL or here. I was primarily focused on private owners, and avoiding dealerships and used car salesmen. About 6 months ago I had stopped at a local Toyota Dealer looking at some used 4Runners and Highlanders, but always had my mind set on the LC. Long story short, I left my name with a guy at the dealership, and 6 months later he called me and said he had a 2013 200 Series someone traded in.

Of course I was interested and just went for it. No PPI, paid what they wanted 37K, I know kinda stupid right, but hey. I am just tired of looking. With my trade in, and after tax, I got out the door for about 37K. Does this seem like a decent deal? It was in the range of KBB. I know it depends a lot of the vehicle, and so many other factors. I have seen 13's for more, so I am not really bummed if I paid a bit too much.

Car is clean, 137K, has a great Carfax history, California car, 1 owner, no accidents, radiator replaced about 6 months ago, recent 120K service on file, and some other recent work done. I started another thread with questions about the work here. KDSS Valve needs some attention, cleaning and marine grease coating. Also one of the shocks looks to be bad, there is a smallish dent on drivers side, and the front driver seat has a rip in the perf area I am getting repaired. Other than that, feels good to me. Feels strong, everything works, cold AC, no transmission or shifting issues as far as I can tell. Did I get lucky? This is my first LC, so hope I made a good decision. Live and learn right? I can afford to do additional work if needed so not worried. I got this for camping, fishing, mountain biking and hauling kids around. So going to use it and abuse it :D

Anyway just curious. I own this thing now, so no going back. Gonna have a local guy throw it up on a lift and have a look next week. I will let you know what he says

Attached a few pics.

PS: NO! I did not crawl under the car when it was on the jack, just stuck the phone underneath. I am planning to get some floor jacks and a proper floor jack ASAP.

Cheers!

Kind of difficult to tell without knowing what they gave him for the trade in towards the LC and how many miles the vehicle had exactly at the time of purchase 😉 Congrats on joining the '13-15 LC club @RTK, the rig looks well taken cared of!

Appears to have some kind of aftermarket sliders too..

Those are SDHQ sliders. I love mine!

Oh Sorry, I got $4500 for my Trade in of my 2012 Audi A3. The LC has 137K. Trade in Paid tax basically, which kinda sucks.

So effectively $41,500 with 137k miles. Sounds about right in the current market.

Truck looks great and I’m happy for you!

I don’t think you overpaid. It looks to be in excellent condition. My ‘13 is easily the most reliable vehicle I’ve owned and it’s never required more than scheduled maintenance.

Congratulations! Looks like you got a good one.
