yes I used the search feature !:) ...but looking for feedback with snow capabilites for the Dick Cepek tires.

I was doing search and read more than one comment that the BFG all terrain t/a was not that good in rain and poor side traction...those were my first choice as they are an RAC rated tire ( rubber ass. of Canada ) for snow traction. But don't like the idea of poor rain performance .

Was also looking at a Cooper tire called Turbo Star A/T , mfg. by Telstar . Any knowledge of these ?

I like the look of the Dick Cepek tires . Lots of snow and ice conditions where I am ,would like to run dedicated winter tires and summer tires but $$$$ for 2 sets of tires .

Thanks in advance , Daryl:cheers:

what are you asking? if any of those tires are any good?

And which Dick Cepek tires. They make several diff ones and are actually made by Mickey Thompson.

I have not run the DC (FC radial) tire yet but have spoken with some who have in this area. (we get plenty of snow and ice) Everyone has said positive things about them. The Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo is also supposed to be a good snow and ice tire. I am not a fan of the BFG AT in the snow. Good at first but loose thier snow grip fast.

What size are you looking to run? Nokian makes a great snow tire in LT285/75/16. (33") They are also taking votes for them to produce a true 33" snowtire on thier website.

One of the above three tire tire will be on my truck next. (winter only) That or something with studs. I really want the Nokian's but will have to purchase rims too.

the fc radial II....it is manufactured by Telstar tires ( www.telstartire.com/dickcepek.pdf) which is owned by Treadways corp . Don't see anything talking about Mickey Thompson !

Are they a noisy tire ? Good wear characteristics ?

I would like to go 16's but that adds $250-300 to the price cause I would have to buy rims which is not in the cards right now .

Thanks , Daryl

I ran FC radials (33x14.50) for a couple of years while I lived in UT. Keep in mind these aren't the FC II's, I am talking the original Fun Country. They did really well in all snow conditions from hard pack to deep powder, and I had plenty of opportunities to try and get them stuck (while I was working at a ski resort). The only problems I had with these tires were the price, and the fact that after a couple of years one tire developed a "bubble" and could never be balanced again. Overall, I love the original Fun Country. No experience with the FC II's, but I am thinking about giving them a try.

http://www.dickcepek.com/ has all 3 of thier tires listed. They used to make the original FC in 33's. But not anymore. I remember a guy having the kelvar ones and he said he got 70K miles out of them. But it wasnt me so I cant say he was for real or not. I always thought they were cool tires, but thought they would suck in mud. And they are wide as poo! Another reason to strike them off the list of a LC wagon owner.

But you are looking at the FC-II no clue about it. here is another link about DC tires by Mickey thompson. Its not the FC -II though. http://www.mickeythompsontires.com/cepek_fc.html
BFG AT's not experience yet with them ( have a set in the garage to go on the wifes 4runner after the current BFG rip offs wear out) The rip offs look almost exactly the same. We have had them on for about 30K miles and they stillhaveb at least 1/3 tread left, maybe more. We hardly get any snow so I cant help you there and certainly do not envy you.

I ran the FC on my 40 a few years back. Seem to get alot of flats. Got very annoying after the first couple times.
