Howdy all, first post here on the thread, I finally need help. I have a 1973 Fj40, was a frame off. So when it was rewired was rewired with a quick wire kit. My issue is my gauges are all wired, each gauge is getting power in, and each sending unit has power at the sending unit, however none of the gauges are reading. The cluster unit is also grounded, have tried a few different grounds. Some one tell me what I’m missing. Thanks for the help

Have you checked the fuse box? Are any of your gauge signals going through a fuse that may be blown or not installed? Are the sending units known to be good? Do the sending units have proper power and ground connections? Do you have a multimeter to trace the circuits through the vehicle? Are they wired properly?

Fuses are all good, sending units are not known to be good, but each sender is getting 12v at the actual sending unit. And getting 12 volts at each gauge And i followed the wiring diagram so they should be wired right.

So what happens when you turn the key and energize the entire system? Any signs of life at all?
Sure, car runs and drive great all the lights work, spedo works turn signal indicators and cluster lights work, but fuel oil and and temp gauges dont move, when tested with a multi meter they are getting 12 volts though

Did you use any thread sealer or teflon tape on the temp gauge sensor or oil pressure sensor? Those need a ground connection so any sealer may be preventing the electrical circuit from working. Is your engine ground strap / cable connected to a good ground point, and are the connections clean? Can you measure current flow through those sensor wires with your multimeter? If so, do you see a change as the engine heats up for example with the temp sensor to indicate the circuit is working?
