The time has arrived. I've been tentatively given the "green light" from the warden to pull the trigger on the Slee OME 2" lift with UCA's. Not having access to a lift, I don't feel like tackling the install myself even though it does look fairly straightforward even with the KDSS. Does anyone have experience with a competent shop or installer in the DFW area who can perform this work? I would prefer someone who has successfully completed the install on other 200's.

Thanks in advance

Take it to Slee about a 10 hour drive from Dallas. Make it a vacation with the family. Then you will know it's done right and you will save the shipping charge. JMHO

Man I know, right.

It's just that our late summer vacation plans have us headed to Hot Springs ie. Superlift orv park next month. Can't really show up with a shiny mall cruiser with no lift if you know what I mean.

Really just kicking the tires again to see if someone can recommend someone local. I may just call Slee and see if he can recommend someone as well.

Call around to some of the local shops in the area. (even the toyota dealer) I had my front OME coils/struts installed at a local garage. Printed out the KDSS instructions and talked with the manager. They were able to do it perfectly. Its no different than any other front strut install except for the KDSS procedure which adds just a few minutes.

I did the rears at home. You just need jack stands, 2 jacks (1 bottle) and basic hand tools. Dont be afraid of the KDSS. There are plenty of articles on how to properly open the system up a bit. Just dont open it all the way or there will be problems.

I second Archtaan on a local shop can do it. Just ask for their first born in exchange for any screw ups - that should level the field.

If you can't do it yourself I'd suggest you use Toyota of Dallas. Ask for Eric Sanchez, their Service Director, and ask that Victor Macias do the work :)

Personal experience with these guys?

call Josh (owner) BaerTrax. He is a LC guy and knows his stuff. They work on only 4WDs. He is the only one I would trust working on my 100 when I lived in DFW last year.

You will love Superlift. Make sure and come back in October for Cruiser Crawl.

Thanks. I've asked around and heard them mentioned a few times. He's on the list for sure.

Yes we had our suspension all apart and partly together ourselves and mid install ran into a roadblock with jacks, stands, necessary heights and capacities for what we had. Had to take the truck to them to do everything on their lift. Exceptional work, KDSS balancing was perfect and alignment is spot on 4500mi later.

This was with Radflo's, UCA's, OME rear springs and Firestone helper bags and 200 specific. They are the only ones who have touched our truck other than ourselves, so far at least :)

Thank you Mr. JamesC. I happen to be in downtown Dallas this morning and I think I may just drop by their shop and pay them a visit/give them a headache today.

Do it yourself. Hell, if I can, you can!

I probably will..... However, had I not kicked the tires on the idea of getting it done, I would not have been able to spend my afternoon today touring the facilities of BaerTrax with Steve and the entire parts and service dept at TrdParts4u with Mr. John Teckley (this is one good dude). Both places pretty much said it's easy but would still be happy to take my $$ to do the work.
