That was a joke about the headache thing, the tuned headers we offer are built much better than the 6>1 headers. The will also last longer, provide more power, and seal better. We do not claim that any of our headers are smog legal in CA!!!! Of course are headers work, but will not pass the smog visual test in CA. Steve.
 
Ok, since we are talking about headers and desmogged rigs my 84' is completely desmogged and has a very old set of very warped MAF 6 to 1 headers. I can't afford the MAF tuned ones so I was considering buying the SOR 2 piece headers. I know alot of guys have them but there does'nt seem to be any agreement about there quality. My other option is to go back to a set of used stock manifolds but it sounds like they all eventually crack? I had an 82 FJ40 that the exhaust manifold cracked on so I know from personal experience that it does happen. Also, I have to agree that you really need to know what your doing when you do a desmog, my truck has had all of the usefull cold weather items removed and now I am trying to put it back on. And whatever you do hang on to everything you take off it's worth it's weight in gold if you every have to sell it to somone in area that rquires IM.

After re-reading what I wrote and seeing the slightly aggravated response I got regarding the headers, I realized that I came off a bit sarcastic and abrasive. It's so hard to get the right tone and inflection when typing! :doh: I guess that's what the smileys are for..... Anyway, I do apologize for my rather back handed tone. I didn't mean to imply that MAF headers are anything but precision engineered - especially the tuned ceramic ones that I've been eyeing for quite some time! It is of course understood that the tuned headers are not smog legal in CA..... (from what I understand it takes an act of the almighty to get anything past CARB in the first place)

So... for what it's worth, Steve-O, and all the other members that read my last post and thought to themselves, "this guy's being a D!CK!!" I am sorry.

Wish I had them tuned ceramic headers right now, as a matter of fact. They look freakin SWEET.

Thatnickguy, dont worry about it, I didnt think you were a dick at all. I know the tuned headers are expensive, but we wanted to offer something on the market that blew everything else away.
