VIN available on request

I’m selling my 1997 LX450 (Center Locked Only) — a solid and extensively refreshed example of the 80-Series platform. This was going to be my long-term daily driver, and I built it with reliability and longevity in mind. Life has shifted a bit and I’m looking to free up funds to invest in more property. I already have another 80 and a 62, so it makes sense to pass this one along. It just underwent a full mechanical overhaul — including a complete engine rebuild, fresh suspension, steering, and drivetrain work — and it’s truly turn-key. I’d love to see it go to someone who’s been hunting for a well-sorted 80 series that’s ready for years of dependable use.

Engine:
  • Full rebuild (September 2024) : resurfaced, new valves, seals, guides, etc.
  • All new engine gaskets and seals (top to bottom)
  • Brand new piston rings, wrist pins, and rod/main bearings - surfaces were spec'd and machined for reinstall
  • Reassembled with OEM specs and proper torque procedures
  • Runs smooth, strong, and feels like it's brand new
Drivetrain:
  • Transfer case fluid was checked and changed
    • Shifts into low and high perfectly
  • Speedometer O-Ring replaced (OEM)
  • Transmission checked and refilled via the "Rodney Method" by a local shop - shifts perfectly
  • Driveline greased on a regular basis
Recent Mechanical Work:
  • Full front knuckle rebuilds with OEM Birfields
  • New brakes (pads, rotors, calipers) done ~5,000 miles ago
  • New Falken Wildpeak A/T3W tires (285/75R16), including matching full-size spare — installed March 2025
  • All shocks replaced with OEM Toyota parts
  • 30mm Slee coil spacers installed for a minimal lift (didn't plan on building this, but like the look of it)
  • Brand new tie rods and drag link
  • New sway bar bushings and end links
  • New control arm, trailing arm, and radius arm bushings
  • New battery (2025)
  • New power steering hoses
  • New transmission cooler and lines
Interior:
  • Heat and A/C work flawlessly
  • Sony Double DIN touchscreen nav unit with Bluetooth and hands-free
    • OEM Lexus unit included and works great
  • Interior is clean, functional, and comfortable with typical age-related wear
    • Drivers seat is the only one with a wear spot (seen in photos)
  • New Gamiviti seat gears
  • Third row seats included
Exterior
  • New OEM Belt Mouldings on Doors/Windows (All six)
  • Fender flare gaskets replaced (all done now as photos only show one done)
  • Small paint fade on the drivers rear fender flare
  • Windshield to be replaced this Friday (May 23rd, 2025)
  • Two small window rust bubbles that will be repaired by time of purchase - if you'd rather fix them yourself, I'm happy to give a lower price to allow you to fix these.
  • Minor scratches on front bumper ends
  • Chrome wheels are slightly pitted and missing two centercaps - I have a set of alloy LX450 wheels that are included in the sale
Notes on Condition:
It’s a 28-year-old vehicle — it has a few blemishes, small dings, and some faded trim here and there. Nothing unexpected for the age, and nothing that affects drivability or function. The body is straight, the frame is solid, and the truck presents well overall. No rust issues beyond light surface in a few typical areas.

This LX450 has had all the major mechanicals handled properly — engine, steering, suspension, drivetrain, and brakes. No shortcuts, no mystery history, and no deferred maintenance.

Happy to provide cold start videos. PM if interested or to come see it in person and I have a CarFax I can provide as well.

Wow. Nice 80. GLWS

Very nice. Do you have the OEM running boards?

Those front seats are original and look remarkably nice for 270k miles. I hope whoever buys this has them recovered by Fibrenew instead of reskinning them with a cheap vinyl replacement kit. They're only original once.
