I have a few inquiries for the DEPO head lamp and tail lamps. I may or may not stock them as the cost is very high, so if there is enough interest I may. I have access to many other manufacturers for aftermarket lamps but I have decided to stick with a few brand that are good, not lower price point lower quality lamp that we see on Ebay. Most likely will carry Eagle Eyes and Sonar as well. Let me know what you guys/gals think about the following lamp? Price point will be around $550 for the tail lamp and headlamp will be around $750 and it is the HID headlamp. Factory Genuine Toyota headlamp run about $1720. This is not a sales thread, just need feedbacks. Thanks :)

Update 12/12
Finally have a chance to unbox the smoke Depo tail lamp!! Very nice, have few sets available. Price is $490 plus ride. Wish they make one for LX.

DEPO 200 Tail R_S.webp

I just want to be the first to post in what I'm sure is to become a well known thread.

I think they look awesome. Especially as the current oem headlights becomes hazed over and hard to deal with. Also whenever 200's become more palatable cost wise, I think you'll see a big (renewed / ongoing / rekindled) interest in this mod! They seem very reasonably priced.

So how does the headlamps work in relation to the DRL and what bulbs are they using?

I'd be interested depending on quality and price. I've been wanting to retrofit my 08 to the newer style hid lights for a while.

In terms of aftermarket lamp goes, DEPO offer one of the best quality aftermarket lamp, next one up will be Genuine Toyota lamp. Price will be around $560 for the tail lamp and headlamp around $750 depending on quantity and other factors, but that is what I am shooting for. Is quite tricky, so far DEPO wants MOQ of 100 set per model. It is made to order if I order through my supplier in Taiwan from DEPO. Compare to $1720 Toyota list price for the headlamp set .

Ah so these are for HID bulbs?

'Cause when you mentioned $1700 for headlights, it threw me off since I'm used to the $180 08-11 LC halogen designed headlamps

If Eagle Eyes is offering a lower MOQ, I can say the LED taillights I had from them on my ES 330 were top quality in fit and performance, worked great for the 3 years from the time I installed them to when I traded in the vehicle, and certainly much better looking than the bug-eye style of the 02-04 lights that came from the factory.

I'm curious about the tri-projector lows in the second post. I would expect that one to use LED lighting elements for those.

LOL, yes the good old halogen lamp will be much cheaper. The new HID lamp is a lot more expensive. I need to explore a little more of other option for the headlamp that comes in 2013 and newer model with halogen setting if there is interest in it, but I feel that most people who plan to upgrade the headlamp will want projector HID lamp instead of halogen lamp at this point.

If you are looking for replacement lamp simply because of yellowish lense or deteriorating reflector for lower price point, then by all means get the 08-11 Genuine factory replacement lamp for less than $400 a set. No point to go aftermarket.

Yea Eagle Eyes and Sonar has great quality as well, I am looking into it too. Other than the MPQ factor, another issue is that the aftermarket manufacturer make this cool aftermarket headlamp mainly target middle east, Russia, Australia market but American market due to low sales volume in the US. So another words is that they are not DOT certified but E-mark certified for LHD in Europe. So you usually do not see them in the US market but the rest of the world. So Eagle Eyes, DEPO will not sell to me directly because they will says we have partner distributor in the US already and I will have to buy through the US channel, I am fine with that but trouble is the US distributor never import them as they are not DOT certified. I personally find the E-mark lamp are better.

Some of you probably know that I imported the DEPO 1 piece head lamp for the 08-05 LC, that is the same story as well. Takes lots of work to get them imported and hoping custom will not flag and stop the shipment. They did sliced open a couple of them and check them physically in one of my shipment.

The tri projector style uses H7 halogen bulb for both high and low beam per DEPO catalogue. I know w a lot of people plug HID or LED bulb into it but it is not design for those. Proper retrofit work is required to use HID setup. Do not know the price point for those yet.

Yea, my headlamps have the high beam bulb coating come off and is sitting on the reflector plus heavy deposits on the top so I was planning on buying new OEM but with LED bulbs. Didn't know if this could be an option, but with LED instead of HID

These lights are "for off road use only."

Not sure what you are implying, do you know anything about DOT and ECE standard headlamp? The ECE ( E-Code ) lamp provide sharper cut off with less glare on the left side than DOT headlamp but provide higher cutoff with more light to the right side for road sign, pedestrian etc. So if you are implying it is blinding incoming traffic because it is not DOT standard because of glare, then you may need to keep your 201 for off road use only as it projects more glare to the incoming traffic than ECE 201 headlamp.

Now if you are talking about RHD headlamp such as UK MOT standard, that is another story, definitely not suitable for US road due to glare and cutoff pattern. ;)

I was saying that they could be sold and labeled as for offroad use only for legal liability reasons.

Eagle Eyes just puts DOT on their lights.
Hey, that could stand for anything.

Oh yea that would be nice if the custom/DOT buy that. As for the DOT mark on the lamp, Eagle Eyes, Sonar and DEPO will not do it unless it is truly certified and compliant on their end, they will not play with the fire as they are big company and not some unheard company from China. I know it can be done in China with some small scale manufacturer, they will do anything you want with agreed price! By the way, for tail lamp and fog lamp is easy, it doesn't has to be DOT certified to be imported. :)

I'd be interested in the headlights - not sure this set is going to make the cut.......

I was all lined up to buy his headlights...paid and all...but sadly, they were destroyed in a minor accident prior to removal. :( So...no more headlights. He's a stand-up guy though, and I appreciate the rotors, and extra effort to share these parts with the mudder fam... Thanks again, Rs6!

Ok, the DAMN DEPO come back and flat out saying due to the headlamp is not DOT compliant, they will not even provide sample quote to my supplier! :bang: Stating that they will be fine big time if caught selling them to US customer. That is something new, I think it is just an excuse, as far as I know the importer is the one who get hit, they have nothing to worry about as they are not even the one who sells to me direct. So no dice to even get a set or 2 as sample, but I am sure I can work around it with other channels. So stay put;)
