Sorry guys I can't make it to Chocoloco trail. I picked up a big project work and will be very busy for the next few months. I will see you all on Turkey Trot trail.

Luis, Since it's you, and ONLY YOU, we might take exception and let you slide this time. :)
We will miss having you there.

Project at work, or Land Cruiser project ?

Welder in Tampa?

Anyone in the Tampa area know of a welder? Looking to add on a roll bar and need some welding done, but everyone I call and stop by will not do the work. Seems like an automotive welder is hard to come by. I am in the Odessa/West Chase area and have come up empty even with recommendations.

Thanks!

I think the problem is no one wants to be responsible if the roll bar fails. Try looking up twisted metal offroad on causeway blvd. They may do it theyre an offroad shop.

:frown: i cant this time. 4 kids + 1 income = no vacation for me. Just take lots of pictures so i can be there in spirit.

I lurk.

80 is still down with a broken birf or whatever its problem is. I keep putting it off, as I know once its fixed, I am going to seriously think about selling it. So there may be some subliminal procrastination going on there.

1/2 thought about trailering the 40 up and playing for the weekend, but that means I would have to go through Ocala twice with a trailer. We all know where what happens in Ocala.

Will catch up with you guys soon for sure!

Cliff

Who's all going ??

Chirp chirp chirp...

It got quiet all of the sudden, should I be stocking up on zombie rounds???

It did get awfully quiet. I just got back in town late last night and figured the whole site would be lit up red. Not so. I guess everyone is fixed, clean, and anxious for some cooler weather for some campfire camaraderie.

Brother Rocky, I can understand how you feel that way.

Over the years I've felt the same way on a few occasions.
I was disappointed too about last weekend

BUT...... The same thing is happening (nothing happening) with other off roading clubs and groups.

Since I already had the truck mostly packed and ready, plus had taken the extra days off work, i decided to see how the other half wheels. I had never been to a big mud event. Went too the Redneck Yacht Club down in Punta Gorda. It's noted as being the largest, best attended off roading park in Florida.
It was coll and all, but everyone there said about a quarter of the number of people that usually show up were there. Hung out to watch ATV's ride around all weekend. There was only a dozen trucks at most that hit the big mudholes.

Maybe it's the economy??

We just got back from nc the weekend before...overland rally champion...just sayin haha

Its deffinatly the economy. Unfortunatly im broke and not ashamed to admit it. Since sales is my gig if people arent spending neither am i. I sure am anxious to get out and wheel but my cruiser is in the driveway with an empty tank and im driving the damn toaster scion to save on gas. Any body wanna buy an a-k. As far as chirp chirp i completly expected someone to tell me what a douche i am for sanding all the paint off my cruiser and lining it badly but only carter with a response. Chirp c hirp. Ill be at turkey trot and gsmtr but ive deffinatly gotta figure out a low budget slider setup before gsmtr but alas no welder. So for now its the internet cruisin for me and tinker tinker here and there. Dont give up on the club yet. im new and havent met everybody yet but im not giving up just because of a little money shortage.

I'm with Danny. I don't have much cash to play with at the moment. and going to NC with Austin, plus I'll be going back and forth between Atlanta, Colorado and back here over the next 30 days or so is gonna kill my wallet.

I think the economy is a big part of how clubs such as ours are doing right now. No one wants to commit to things when the election is so soon. When that is over I expect for things to pick up again, especially once all the bugs or at least most start to go away with cooler weather.

And Austin is not a champion. I had to tow him out of a hole which lost me the title...
