I got one on my Oregon-delivered 1998 LC.

Toyota part number is 11298-50180, and is indeed discontinued.

Partsouq & Japan parts sources don’t recognize the PN, so it may be applied stateside.

What’s the build code from the plate on the driver’s door jamb? Should be something like UZJ100L-GNPEKA. That’ll tell you if it was intended for the US market initially.

May just have to find a nice CHP officer to sign the right form for you.

I’d try to register it at AAA. Although my person went out to look for that sticker but I doubt they all do it

If you could find junk hood with the sticker you could try cutting it out with an angle grinder and then heat the backside of the metal to make pulling the sticker off easier.

I have a tweaked hood off an LX, but that doesn't do a Land Cruiser any good.

They need to inspect the car to complete REG 31. I doubt many vin verifiers will risk their license for someone just walking through the door.

Purchased a 100 series that is missing a federal emissions sticker that’s causing me some problems when I go to register. Vehicle was purchased in OR, will now be registered in CA. DMV is saying this is a required item and I need to reach out to the dealership for a replacement. Dealership says the label is no longer produced and they can’t help me. Next step is going to CHP as they recommend unless you all have a better solution. Thoughts?
If you cannot order the sticker from a dealership based on your VIN, then you need to go to CHP.

The purpose of a vin verification is to make sure the vehicle is not stolen with stickers and vins swapped. Trying to fake an emissions label is likely to cause a much larger issue than what you have now.

Has the hood been replaced with an aftermarket one?

that sticker does not look like it has any VIN specific info on it

I agree. From the few stickers that have been posted it seems they are similar with the difference being it is a California specific one or a federal one.
