question for those who know...

me and my lady friend are moving to the colorful state within the next month ( if all goes well ) and have questions if we should live in 1. Loveland 2. Ft. Collins 3. Longmont 4. on some family property in Glen Haven? all help is welcome thanks....
 
That's a pretty useless question on the face of it... You might want to mention stuff like where you'll be working, what you like to do, blah blah blah... Otherwise, I'll tell you to move to Boulder. ;)

Boulder! Ouch!
But I agree (except for forcing you to Boulder) that more info on your plans and lifestyle would be helpful, each area has it's attributes and downfalls.

yes,

i don't want to intrude the state but be an be a delightful contributor. i have no plans to move to bolder as my lady friend is looking at 2 jobs one in lovland and ft.collins. she is a graphic designer and would or can support my self and her on that income. me i've been a turbo prop mechanic 7 years, bicycle mechanic 8 years, carpenter, body shop man and other tributaries of such nature. as well i like to drive my trucks over crap. main goal is to start building on a 2 acer retreat out side of glen haven.

I live and work in Fort Collins as a Graphic Designer. The Fort Collins/Loveland area has a lot of opportunities for graphic design but i know that competition is tough.
As for the city itself, I would vote Fort Collins. It's a pretty nice city.
 
i'm not even from there, but you gotta go with Ft. Collins. the city is very cool, laid back, and refreshing.
my goal is to someday live there, and i've visited often. just a short drive to ride through the Poudre River canyon, a pleasant drive over to Loveland, and through the Big Thompson canyon into Estes Park, a short drive to Cheyenne, a long, but beautiful, drive to Yellowstone. Ft. Collins has it all.
great music scene, and if you like beer, you'll love Ft. Collins. kind of got an Austin vibe, but with better scenery, and cooler people
just my opinion, but it's what i'd pick!!!

good vibe yes, thanks for the vote.. i've spent plenty of time in the Fort and have gone to the tour de fat festivals. as for austin ive been there twice 1.for the air force passing through 2.drove there after the lone star round up this year, didn't think much.

Lol, unfortunatly no. I am still in school so it was easy to get a part time job with Colorado State.
I'm not really sure what's available in the real world. I've just been told that it's competitive. :)
 
Very competitive. I am an IT professional between jobs and looking. I usually ask after applying and many times there are hundreds of applications for the same job in my field. The Graphics Design field may be much different. Careerbuilder is one of the best search sites around here, but Craigslist also has good postings also. What ever location you decide to move to, start networking with some of the groups that are available around here. You can land interviews for positions you never thought were available.

Cost of living is a little lower in loverland, and the traffic is a hell of a lot better!! More to do in Collins, tho.
 
Coming back late, but my vote is definitely Ft Collins. I lived in downtown Loveland for several years and liked it a lot, but always thought Ft Collins was more fun, and definitely more walkable or bikable.
 
Again that is a question that needs a few answers.

Loveland has a great bunch of older homes around the downtown(Where my In-Laws Live), some nice homes around Lake Loveland built in the 70's(That is where I use to live) and now there is a lot of new construction off of Wilson right against the mountains.

So there are a lot of choices.

It's down to 2.30 for me! Only costs $25 to fill my tank.
 
well little update, lived in loveland for a little over a month now every things great. got to go out wheeling with some of you had a blast... still half hearted looking for work going back to missouri over the holiday to grab my 60 and kayak... thanks for all the input again.
