Great shots and cool vid!!!

Glad you guys had a great time, and I'm sick that I missed it!

I took my valve cover off late Friday afternoon to do the gasket and figured it'd be a 2-3 hr job. Not so. I'll post a longer thread later, but 1) a spark plug seal was missing 2) 2 or 3 of them were chunked 3) surprisingly my plugs and top-end all looked great. It took a lot (a helluva lot) longer than I expected, with all of the cleaning and my usual glacial pace.

Last night was pretty good. We piled up about 3 stacks of wood on the fire, a tarp over the the pit to keep the wintry mix at bay, and some beverages kept us warm. Thanks for Ron and Clint for making the long trip from Charleston to hang out with us NC guys. One of these days we'll make it where the group camp is actually cost effective!

We have before...... and then there are plans that i've been making for next year.

Made it through the rest of my journey. Ended up cutting the pwr steering belt off before I left the outpost. Just outside of charlotte my passenger side wiper stripped and quit working. Time to lay her up in the shop for a little while and tackle some issues. Next time she sees the trail she'll be mended and sportin a new exhaust, gears, and a locker. Awesome pics and video and had a great time. Thanks everyone for help with my ho's.

Where do you live, we could do a hamom

Had a great time......took my time returning home today...a little tired but had a great time.

Cant wait for a repeat next year...

Thanks for the video of the DIRTY DIVA on Daniel....much appreciated. My sliders were put to the test this weekend...for sure. :P

One of our previous members lives there too....Fr8Dog-MD11...he has a green built 40...was story in Toyota Trails or Toyota 4wd about going to pacific northwest with it.

about 15 Tacoma's meet up with 8 cruisers and we were intermittently passing passing each other. One the Tacoma driver got nervous as David was passing and tried to pull forward (to give more room, as the last cruiser passed rather close to him). With the slider on the ground the Tacoma was high centered and instead of going forward it kicked into the 40 (pushing the mirror up against the glass ever so slightly). he stopped short of full contact about the width of a paper towel at least. But, Mike pulled the 40 back up and away from the Tacoma, then all was ok and we all moved on. Note: I was in the rear, but this is how i understood it. We had a good time, It would have been great if a few others had showed up friday night, but i understand after all it was kind of chilly.

Yep you got it right. After David was clear, the guy still had a little issue getting off that berm. He ended up kicking it the other way and almost put a cut off branch from a fallen tree into his door panel... He had the most built-up rig in the group, but seemed to be the most inexperienced.

WTF?:eek::eek::eek::eek:

I am sure you were nicer than I would have been.

I'm proud to say I didn't even swear. :)

So glad there is a picture as I haven't done justice to the story when I've tried to explain just how close of a call it was.

Also glad I could count on you guys to jump out and advise the situation. While I'm good with my stick shift, I'm not sure I could have kept it from rolling forward and hitting the Tacoma if I'd tried to go in reverse without Mike pulling me with the strap. My guardian angel was surely there keeping us from touching in the first place.

Yeah, according to his posts on TW, I think this was like his first time wheeling. Glad you made it out ok. Here is a closeup.
wtf.webp

If I was in my old Fj62 I would have just hit him. Obviously someone was going the wrong way, most if not all the OHV trails are oneway and if they are two way obviously someone was not paying attention to how wide the trail was. I guess the TACOMA thought RUBBING IS OFF ROADING. Sorry I missed it talked with Brock and it seemed like it was a good time. I am just glad my truck broke down where it did so I did not have to worry about a really expensive tow.

all trails are two way at uwharrie due to how they run into each other from different directions.
