I live down here in the S/E but haven't got out at all... so my apologies in advance. But down for the weekend!

Might be interested in making a run on the 29th. I have relations in town and my son plus 1 or 2 others want to do a little 4 wheeling. I have a two seater Taco so may need a seat or two in another truck. I'll know more a little closer to Christmas. Box Canyon is a great run with a couple of challenging parts that won't tear your truck up. For me it's fun and won't totally scare the **** out of the relatives. I'll watch the thread for updates.

Count me in for a Box Canyon trip! Just keep me posted. With the Holidays, I can forget about a lot.
FYI The gate has just been installed at the entry to the Martinez cabin/mine area. It IS locked. Two of my friends were there yesterday. Now that it is complete, I am working on the BLM management folks that I do volunteer work for to consider a limited access program so that there will still be a way to drive back to this really neat place. DRAT!! John, I seriously was just in the process of sending you a PM to ask the status of Martinez Canyon! I was going to plan a run there this Saturday! I knew this day would come and wanted to get back there and run the whole loop once more before they closed it. Let me know if there is anything we can do to help you in your endeavour to get the BLM to let it stay open on a limited by-reservation or combo-lock type basis.

I will be working with them several times each month until it gets too hot for them. Forest has had some success with this concept, but I don't think BLM has done it anywhere yet. So I may be a long drawn out effort to get it, but I will keep working on it.

What's the latest on this run? Are there any new plans? I'm still interested and still "think" I'll need a couple of extra seats for visiting relatives.

I'll have a seat or two. Right now its just me & a 4yo Ninja:-0

Very interested if I can get my truck ready by then. Right now I have the old radiator pulled and about to install the new one I just got in hopes that it is the final piece to my overheating puzzle! :bang:

What happen to mom?

She's wintering in DC. She was just out for TGiving.

Finally got to talk with my son. Seems the 29th there's a ASU basketball game and football game so he will be in Tempe most of the day. Sooooo, I don't need empty seats for the run. I still plan to be there so I'll keep watching for up dates. Thanks anyway for the offer to haul my relations around.

John, my truck is getting a heart transplant. But once its done she should be like new... but it's going to be a few weeks so not going to make this outing.

Roll up you sleeves and getrdone princess.:princess:

I'm assuming this is targeted as a family friendly run? If so, I would say Coke Ovens is too long of a day and would offer up Telegraph Canyon into Ajax Mine Road. This is a relatively easy run with cools areas to stop and play/explore along the way. It can also be exited by Box Canyon, for those who want.
