Oh this is def a me thing not a you thing. I am a perfectionist that is unable to deliver perfection. LOL
Yeah I totally understand....when I do them I have to clear my mind for half the day then cut and tape carefully....then hope my transfer goes smoothly --

It is a process that gets you one step closer to your truck and improvement 👍

Updating this thread with another picture installed -- this is from the newer kit with revised wiper decal. Looks pretty good IMHO.

I just ordered these for my 83 60. Honestly I didn't know there was so much on those levers as most of mine has rubbed off. Question- do most folks clean off what might be left from the factory or try to lay the sticker on top of what might be left? if you do take off faded leftover decals, what would I use??

I cleaned the remnants of the factory decals off in sections before installing the new ones - brake fluid on a Q tip worked great. Then cleaned the stalk with denatured alcohol before putting the new decals on. Trying to perfectly lay the new decals on the old ones would be almost impossible.

Again I would recommend replacing the decals in sections so you leave some original reference points during the project. Just know you should clear coat the new decals immediately one they’re installed, if you touch them accidentally before you clear coat they’ll move/tear - ask me how I know 😂.

Hi John,

I make these kits and have your order -- sending today and thanks again....I will include a 'practice' piece too.

Let me attach the best 'quick' how-to guide I have.....they are a 99% match so you can put them over the older faded decal but I would suggest @tarheel40 methods as they will produce the best results.

Shoot me a PM if you run into any issues -- I also have small sections I can send if you make a mistake.

Hi Matt,

Your installation + pictures are a real help to anyone considering this project. I thank you for chiming in with your tips and providing important information.

I will add the clear coat 'darkens' the entire stalk and removes the old decal sections a bit so there is essentially 'no ghosting'

SEM 13013 is the best clear for this type of decal installation.
