Hey guys, though you might like to see these. These were taken by a buddy of mine that attended the trip. We did over 300 miles of trails in two days. You can read and see more about the trip in Four Wheeler Magazine and on the web in the comming months. I will keep you posted as to when it will hit the newsstands. I have some more pictures to post up but right now I am too lazy. I just finished writing five pages of tech for Part II of Project 80 in Off-road Magazine. Until then enjoy, Tare

Alvaro:

Sorry we missed you guys, I hear a few days before we went out that you guys were heading out there. How was the trip? How long did you guys stay out there?

Beno,

Jay took lots of video.
It's hard work editing that stuff. Don't expect to see the finish product overnight.

That was my first time meeting Lisa and TR, nice people. We all had a blast. Scott looks like you are doing some freelance work in OFF-ROAD. My first installment of PROJECT 80 is in the May issue as well. We should defiantly hook up sometime and do some exploring. If you are ever in the OC PM me and we can hook up and talk shop.

Very cool Tare! I am going to enjoy your 80 build-up.

I am thrilled with the direction Off-Road is going in. No rock buggies, lots of adventure and a shift in emphasis to Toyotas. I have several articles coming out that will feature the 4Runner you saw on the trip. I had been driving that vehicle for about six weeks, so there will be two adventure articles and a vehicle feature in Off-Road, and then another adventure article in 4WD Toyota Owner.

I get down to Southern California about once a month, so lets plan on getting together!

Did you ever find the mine shaft you can drive into and camp inside? It is off the trail by the striped buttes on a dead end road. I went all over in DV in '05 for the big bloom with my dad and my trd taco. If I ever figure out how to post a link to the yahoo pictures I will throw them in. DV is a lot of fun. Also some great downhill mtb trails you can poach out there in the canyons. Its the only place I saw an Element getting some good off road action.
