You can just get a starter for an FJ60 from any of the chain auto parts stores. Those are the gear-reduction ones that Belmont148 is talking about. They bolt right in, but you'll have to make a minor change to your electrical connections. I think I just had to lengthen one of the wires when I swaped one into my '71. You can get one for a little over $100 with a lifetime warranty.

You can have most of the parts stores test your alternator and starter for free. Most of them can test the parts on the vehicle, but the bench tests they have are pretty fool proof, so if you get iffy results from the 'on vehicle' test, you can always pull the parts and have them bench tested inside.
