Very true! While I was looking, I found a LC and a LX, the LX was cheaper, in WAY better shape, less miles, both had factory lockers. The LX was green, LC was grey. Interior of the LC was trashed and was $3K more. LX was prefect (haha, was, isn't now!), and had the LX extras...6-disc CD changer, subwoofer, more sound proofing (so I've been told), softer suspension (means nothing for most of us).
Either way there was definetly no reason to NOT get the LX. It was nicer in everyway...and having it be a Lexus was a added bonus. You do get odd looks when you outwheel someone and you're in a LX...
I wouldn't waste you time pulling badges...here's why: You buy a LX for say $16K or less, with factory lockers. You buddy buys a 2001 or newer Jxxp Grand for about that price...yet your's has no recalls (look up a recalls and TSBs for a jxxp!)..and factory lockers, no Grand can touch that! Also your LX will be better built, even your buddies will have to agree with that, and you didn't pay more...so who's the sucker?
My friends give me grief all the time, and if I paid a ton I could understand the razzing, but if I got a way better deal on a WAY better vehicle than they did...I'm not holding my head in shame!
