There's a few threads going on now about additional badges. I've always gone the other way with my cars and trucks and de-badged. Wondering if anyone has done this on a 200 and could post some pics and info about whether there's holes to fill afterwards. Would be nice to get rid of the chrome plastic Landcruiser bezel on the back as well for something color matched to the body.

When I Line-X’ed mine, I left the “V8” off because I didn’t care for it. At least on that one, it was just stuck on and no holes behind it (on a 2011).

The badges are just stuck on, can remove the V8 etc. The truck would look awful with the sombrero removed on the back because there is a hole for it. If you want to color match the bezel, any body shop can etch and paint it. There are a ton of LCs on here where @Eric Sarjeant has done that. Just look at the builds. I know he recently did that with a magnetic gray one and it came out well. Matched grill also. To match the sombrero, order a new one and have it done so you dont have to try and re tape it.

And a trick that can help is to use two dowels as handles on the fishing line. I've cut my fingers several times using fishing line to remove badges.

What do you use to remove the residue? What would you use to place the emblem back, double sided tape or adhesive? My 100 series debadged itself after 20 years of Texas heat. I was thinking about adding some LC badges to the 200 but if I didn't like them I may remove them.

Residue removal, in order of least aggressive to most:

Goo Gone
Goof Off
3M Eraser Wheel on drill

I've used goo gone, WD-40 and rarely acetone to remove emblem adhesive on various vehicles.

I've removed badges before and learned a few new tricks here. But was really hoping someone could show a 200 with the badges removed and the chrome bezel wrapped or painted.

Sorry, I can't help with pictures. I haven't debadged my current cruiser. I've plastidipped the chrome strip on the rear liftgate, but subsequently removed it. I know I've seen pictures on 'mud of wrapped and dipped chrome though.

Someone on here has a gold 200 with the rear nameplate wrapped gunmetal gray.. it looks amazing. No clue of username, but searching those colors might get you somewhere.

Edit: second post How to make Land Cruiser lettering on trunk "pop"?
