Hey guys! My buddy who actually pointed me to this forum is up here for the New Year weekend. I'm taking tomorrow off to make the weekend a bit longer and figured we'd drive down to Stony Lonesome (It's less than an hour away from me).

I'm not looking for any kind of serious trail action. I just got a new 2011 4Runner Trail Edition 2 or 3 months ago. It's still fully stock with the exception that I'm part way into an install of a CB.

My main intention is to just take it out, get a feel for the truck, learn "where it is" when I'm crawlin' around and see where my biggest needs are gonna be for future upgrades (already got some good hunches). Also just wanna kind of document what a stock Trail Edition can do as a lot of people who have these tend to just have videos and stories of setups that are heavily after market.

So if anyone wants to meet us up there, ride along, maybe drop a few tips our way... come on up/down. I'll be sub'd on this thread but you can also let me know you're coming via email

Happy trails and safe ridin'!

It went pretty well. Came across a guy from Huntsville in a mid 80's CJ-7 so I trailed around with him. I was quite impressed with what my 4Runner could do completely stock.

Here's some clips of the more fun part toward the end of the day:

We ended up doing some much more difficult trails than I had initially intended but the truck handled it all pretty well. 4-Lo handled everything on its own, only had one time where I needed to lock the rear diff to get through a rut.

Now I know where it's lacking the most and have a decent list of things to upgrade, but it's definitely a decent start.
