Looking good Dave. Let me know when you want to try it out. I know some good class 4 roads nearby

It's been pouring all day and the truck is still bone dry inside so I guess cleaning out the sunroof drains took care of the leak. :) :)

Got the plastic trim all cleaned up. Got the carpet relatively clean with orange clean, a lot of scrubbing and a lot of shop vac work. :) Came out ok, more then good enough for a wheeling rig. :)

Need to clean up the seats and the consoles tomorrow night then hopefully put it all back together on Saturday.

Yeah!!

as much as I liked the 55, this is a damn sharp looking truck. :)

Thanks! Yeah, I'm pretty excite about it, it's totally badass. :) :)

My wife has been hounding me to start fly fishing again (I think she thinks I'm overstressed or something) and I think I'm going to set the truck up with a place to store my rod (PVC pipe & cap mounted inside) as well as a place to put wet waders and shoes.

just an FYI, unless they have crushed it, there is a white 91 fj80 in Rathes junkyard in colchester. They wanted 800 for the whole thing a while ago. Actually pretty rust free, popped motor. If you need anything, have them tear it off, and I can figure out how to get it to you.

Dave - if the drains on the bottom of the truck are still clogged, where the red zip ties are in my pic, the water will actually back up in the sills and possibly fill back into the cabin (unless there is someplace else it can drain).

I would pour water directly into the sunroof drain and see if it comes out someplace, just to be sure, before you put all the carpet back in.

How are you coming?

are you ready to wheel it yet? How about this trail?

I know a Pig could make it through that but an 80??......

haah! No, I don't think that's the sort of trail I want to run. :) :)

Hoping to have it back together this weekend but I really can't drive it much until I quell that front axle seal leak. Ordering parts from Cdan tomorrow (payday).

some good class 4 roads near that one

That thing needs barn doors in the back from australia.....hint...hint....

Drains checked out so I got the carpet and seats back in, plus all the trim. Looks great. :) The cargo carpet is still oily smelling and not clean enough, going to try one more time to clean it then it's Linex time.

Also changed the diff oil, sprayed down my ebrake thingies with PB blaster in anticipation of pulling them apart, cleaning up and reinstalling.

Think I'm going to have to get a set of Rick's seat tracks.

Discovered my coolant is a pinkish/greenish/brownish mix of coolants so I'll be hitting the dealership on Monday for some of the good stuff. Need to find the right FAQ links for the flush procedure.

Also washed the outside and scrubbed the tires, shines up really well. :) I have pics on the camera.

Any grey sludge in the radiator?

dave go rent a steam cleaner

Better check the t-case oil as well. You can bet those bellcranks are seized up solid. Better get on the horn to cdan.
Also check you rear heater pipes. They are known to rust up and burst. Leaking coolant everywhere. I just bypassed mine.

No visible sludge at all in the rad but a flush is a priority now. Spent a lot of time last night reading the coolant flush threads so I know what I'm doing now and will to a thorough job.

I have one of the PPH "kits" on the way from Brett, should arrive Monday so will do that at the same time.

Will continue with changing ALL lubes and fluids as soon as I get more time, truck isn't really being driven until all that is done.

Fork over the $ and have the tranny backflushed. Valvoline did my company van @71K and it looked like a dark brown.
