I can allready see the grin on your face as you are typing all this . I think the 80 was a BAD idea for you. J/K
Man I hope Feburary pans out and we can get together and wheel. You will enjoy the BSLCA bunch around the camp fire just don't fall asleep in you chair

You mean Just don't be FIRST to fall asleep in your chair.:lol:

Have you seen the thread of shame? Hope to see you in HS!

Don't let this happen to you...

That's hilarious and unfortunately that probably would be me

That's just wrong. An ass will heal, but a hole burnt in a chair would make me a little angry.

On second thought, the chair could be set over a bucket or hole in the ground to make an excellent camping toilet.

FINALLY! After 3 orders (2 head gaskets) from American Toyota and about 2 1/2 months of off and on work I finally got her out of the garage under her own power. Things I've done since are: Replaced HG and all gaskets and seals from there to the top, head tested and resurfaced (shaved about 8 thous), sent the injectors out to RC Engineering for cleaning and refurb, replaced all vacuum, coolant, and heater lines and hoses, bypassed the rear heater, cleaned the hell out of the throttle body and upper intake plenum, changed the headlights to HIRs, added Slee's 4" springs in the front, added 1.5" wheel spacers, mounted the 37" KM2s on the Tundra Rims, replaced all the shocks with Doetsch shocks, lowered both sway bars 2", added 2" bump stops, and removed the sliders.

I have to say that I was extremely nervous to turn that key, but have been extremely happy ever since. She is running great. In fact I put 500 miles on her since Sat afternoon. I no longer have a check engine light and she's feeling pretty peppy with the 37's and the stock gears still. I didn't change the timing chain like I said I would. Supposedly I would have to lift the engine to get one of the oil pans off and I don't have the capacity to do that, but I do have all of the parts now.

This week I should have the LandTank's Caster plates installed. I'm going to enjoy her for a little while before tearing those axles down for rebuild, gear, and locker installation. I will post some pictures of her as soon as the fog lifts around here.

Nice job Justin  I look forward to seeing the pics. I'm needing to do the same thing the hard part is commiting to taking it off the road for the time to do it.

This will have to do for now... When the fog lifted the rain started and it was late night at the office. Yea Larry, that's the part that sucks the most about the deal, I think if I had my s*** together, all parts ordered, not breaking anything, and a helping hand to get the head off and back on, I could have had it done in two weeks working after work and a little on the weekends.

Looks good. I like the stance. 37's are a perfect size for those. I like that the entry and departure angles are pretty much uniform!

Lookin sick Justin, i have to agree the 37's are a good fit.

Thats a great looking rig and the 37's look awesome on there

Thanks guys, I'm very happy with the way it's turning out! I'll get some pics in the sun and need to flex that suspension to check tire clearance. I went with pretty long shocks in the rear and need to see if I'll drop a spring.

Those wheels look nice on there as well, time to test and tune.

WOW now I can see pictures , NICE ! The BFG's look good on there. I didn't think you would have had that much clearance between the tires and sheet metal . Glad to see you having so much fun with the 80. So what did you name her?

No name yet Albert, nothing has fit yet.

I flexed her yesterday and need to do a little snipping on the rear flares. I'm going to have to extend my rear bumpstops some more, but I want to get the rubbing out of the way first.

I've noticed a coolant leak and couldn't figure it out for the last few days. While she was in a bind the coolant was flowing pretty hard and I noticed that it was coming from the upper part of my radiator. She probably overheated on the PO and this is what could have caused the HG in the first place. Anyway I have to order a new rad, so this will give me a reason to pull that bumper and repaint it and the grill.

Justin where did you find the Sequoia wheels? I'd like a newer set like that for my wife's 02 Sequoia.

I found them on CL in San Antonio... I had my cousin pick them up and ship them to me.This search engine helped locate them by searching for "Tundra Rims". All of the junk yards are pricey, I picked these up for $300. These rims came in two different colors and these weren't the color I wanted, so I painted them with Duplicolor Gunmetal Metallic rattle can from Advanced Auto Parts.
