For anyone on the fence or about to buy a two-post lift, the Mud highly-recommended Dannmar D10/AC 10,000 lb. asymmetric two-post car/truck lift is on sale for $2,399 and free shipping:

Dannmar D-10/AC ALI-ETL Certified Clearfloor 2 Post Car Lift

Pretty sure that is less than I paid for mine, not quite a year ago.

This place is worse than a crack house

Mine is a year-ish old, and works awesome....

Of course, the MUD sticker increases the value :-)

I've gone back and forth over getting a lift for 3 years, now it's time to do it before 2017 ends. I was down to either an american rotary or a chinese rotary, this being a weaver Weaver® W-Pro10 Red Certified Overhead 2 Post Lift I can pick it up in DFW, so it's the same price less a day of driving. However, I am wondering about this Danmar since others like it.

Some questions-
1- I was going to get a symm but this is an asymm. The weaver does both. For trucks, a symm would better I thought. How does this hold 60/80/100s. That will be 95% of mine with my megacab cummins on occasionally
2- what is the safety mechanism and release? to release, is it one side with a cable running to disconnect the other or are they both on each side?
3- any problems or regrets?

I haven't used mine enough yet (house stuff stored in the way in the shop) to have an opinion on #1 and #3, but it is rated for 10,000 lbs. which should easily accommodate a 60 or an 80 (the curb weight of a stock 80 is half of that); I have no idea how much a 100-series weighs, but I doubt it is twice what the 80 weighs.

#2 - there are big ratchet bars on both sides, that physically hold the arms up and support the weight, in the same manner as jack stands. The release mechanism is a single lever on one side, that is connected by a cable and pulleys over the top to the other side.

I don't have personal experience with this lift brand in particular but at work we have both symmetrical and asymmetrical and personally I like the asym better because its easier to get in and out of the vehicle and you get more room to open the door before you hit the lift

1 asym will not be an issue picking to a 60/80/100, the dodge may be an issue we had an open symmetrical 12k truck lift so we used that. ive lifted the plow truck which is an 03 dodge 2500 4 door 5.7 and it was fine on the asym lift
2 it should be two locks, one on each side with with a single release and both sides connected by a cable.

After much analysis, I pulled the trigger on a Coates today. Paid a little more but it's built in Canada and has some extra goodies, but still less than the US Rotarys. I bought it from my local dealer but will be drop shipped, so I will have good support when needed.

I did call the Best Buy Auto linked in the first post, got a typical salesman on the other end and was pushing me to a Bendpak. I hung up as soon as nicely possible.

I never had to talk to any salesman; I new what I wanted and just ordered and paid for it from their web site. :meh:
