I have a buddy who asked me to post this request. He needs an Arcflex series belt, size large. His pack is the Terraplane, but from what I understand, the Astroplane and Alpine belts are the same.

He has a med to trade if anyone is interested.

Apparently the co is now out of business, so any pointers in the right direction to the find a belt would be greatly appreciated.

I think that Marmot still services the DD packs. He may want to try and contact them as well.

Might want to try contacting these guys

Mystery Ranch Backpacks | Backpacks designed by Dana Gleason | Bozeman, Montana

Dana Gleason started up this backpack company after selling Dana Designs to Marmot. I'm sure he could probably make something to work

Mystery Ranch's designs differ from the originals. Unfortunately, they aren't really being a help..the new stuff is not the same quality or design

I think that Marmot still services the DD packs. He may want to try and contact them as well.

Good info. They did for a small time after Dana sold his co. They in fact referred my buddy to Mystery Ranch

Thanks for the help guys..the pack is now 5 or more years old...I'm sure somebody out there has a belt on a shelf somewhere...the search continues!

Mystery Ranch products are not the same quality as the Dana Design, they're better.

I have the belt you seek. I just went to check size. I have a med on my pack and the spare is large. Just hope I dont grow out of it!

If lynchmob can't help you, call the Marmot warranty dept. They took all the leftover Dana harnesses into their inventory for service after Dana was shut down. 707-544-4590: ask for Warranty and tell them what you need. They may not have any more but it is worth the call.

From the Dana Designs website:

In 1996, K2 Inc., the parent company of K2 skis and snowboards, acquired Dana Designs. In 2004, K2 Inc. acquired Marmot. In 2005, Dana Designs was merged into Marmot and became part of the Marmot pack line. In 2006, the Dana brand became Marmot, but the essential DNA of the dynamic frame systems designed in 1987 and refined every year since remain inside the Marmot packs.

I have 4 original Dana packs and wouldn't trade them for anything short of a stack of gold bars. I bought my first Dana pack in 1989 and they are all still holding together like new. All of them were handmade in Bozeman, Montana before the K2 sale. I've spoken with a lot of people who say that the packs have gone downhill a bit since K2 got involved and production moved overseas. If I were buying a new pack, I'd definitely check out Mystery Ranch since that's where Dana is hanging his hat these days...
