I was given a danna 300 today with four speed attach, guy at the drive line shop said you want it or it goes in the metal recylcing bin.

Will this bolt up to a toyota H55 with a adapter or not?

Rob

Yes..

Good Deal BTW. a D300 is not a bad tcase when upgraded.

D300 = 2.6:1 low, 23 spline input, 26 spline outputs...the 1980 short tail model is an oddball, ,the later ones are all "normal" (1981 thru 1986, IIRC)

Round bolt pattern to the tranny?

4:1 kits avail, 32-spline shaft upgrades avail, twinstick/front dig avail.....

er...junk.....just send it to me.....

Meeeh, Just sell it to a Heeper. A buddy just paid $250 CAD for one that he had to pull out.

There's lots of demand on BC4x4.

There we go.

Rear output is the weak point, but it will still take lots of abuse.

week point, Hence the 32 Spline output upgrade under $200..

Strong compared to the toyota cases
No, strong compared to a Landcruiser 3 or 4 speed tcase....

Split is stronger as is mini tcase IMHO

Went back and searched your build, sounds like a good build for about 1600.00US bones.

Gotta like Freebie, notta a pennie spent...........

I will throw it in a corner since it was free.

Kinda partial to toyota gear, but if I were to build a buggy of some type this would make a great addition.

cool. I just sold one I had for $250 USD + $50 shipping. I settled with what I have otherwise would have been a great builder...

That sounds pretty cool, guess I could build the shifter linkage and save some money too.

I know they came behind T4 transmissions in jeeps, which is very similar to the T5 in the Mustang.

I'm not sure, but I *think* jeep even offered the T5 some years.

In Jeeps, they came stock behind TF999 autos, T176's (strong but bad 1st gear ratio) T4, SR4, and T5 trannys - all of which bite.

Your still a jeep guy.:D

My old man has a T5 in his Cj7. That thing has been out about 5 or 6 times in the last 4 years.
Back to the subject at hand. I just got a dana 300 and I paid $250 all together after shipping. I had very bad luck locating one, even buying one that was suppose to be a dana 300 off of ebay and the seller sent a dana 20. He dissappeared after I asked him where the dana 300 that was pictured in his ad went.
