Do these things blow through body mounts? Particualarly the rears? After re-doing my cross member and hanging the carrier, I noticed a HUGE amount of body resonance.

I checked the rear mount, and it has over a cm of bounce! This can't be normal. But what do I know.

TIA

when I was watching 80s bang their rears on the ledges in Moab, I did notice a great deal of body shake. You could see the body move very noticeably with respect to the bumpers. I would guess at least 1/2", probably more. One could see the body bounce and vibrate. So yes, there is a fair amount of flex built in.
FWIW.

well the problem is that my frame is transmitting the vibes from the tire rack, causing the body to vibe. VERY annoying. Do they make urethane for these? Different designs? I really don't care about cushiness.

Rubber does a better job of isolating the body from the frame than would polyurethane.
