Sounds like it’s coming from top, but it could be many things. I replaced the “while I was in there” pretty much

Power steering pump and high pressure hoses.
Complete coolant system pump, thermostat, radiator hoses.
Tightened valve cover.
New oil pump seal and crankcase seal (see second video from underneath.
New alternator
New pulleys
New fan clutch

Could the key have fallen into timing chain? I checked before cranking it down but that little bigger is hard to see.

Pretty much everything but the AC compressor

Wife seem to think it’s coming from harmonic balancer area but I’ve also heard steering pumps can do this too

Posting for the next guy, pretty sure I found the culprit. Steering pump gear got damaged when I torqued it down. Not a significant amount but enough to cause the knocking which was so load I thought there was rod knocking. Here’s the video after I pulled the pump out.

Off to buy a new steering pump gear and hoping the oil pump gear didn’t get damaged from the 3 min I ran it.

Got damaged during install onto the new OEM pump, I noticed once I pulled it out that the woodruff key was roughed up pretty badly. Once I popped off the damaged gear, I had to pry toe key out, it had score marks on it. I got a new key from Cityracer and a new gear from eBay (not cheap). Here’s what I think happened, I didn’t check if the key was aligned, I roughed the gear up in my Bose even though I had a towel on it. Lastly, I couldn’t my torque wrench on the top of the PS pump, I think a combination of it going in kinked and the damaged gear made for a load knocking sound. I posted the video for others in case they need to diagnose. A PS pump can really make a significant amount of noise. Here’s a video with new gear and all properly torqued down.

Be careful out there, a damaged gear could damage the timing gears. I ran it about 3-5 min like that. I’m lucky here. Sounds good now
