I mean if I don't show you the damage these pics at least would have you take a second look. 2002 165k dealer maintained in California. Still a clean title.

For some reason this reminds me of this thread

Taking into account that it currently doesn't run, I personally wouldn't spend any more than $2000-2500 on it.

Hey man I owe you a beer. That's exactly what I was wondering. That thread is like a vision of what to expect. He paid 1500. Think I'll start there. s*** it's going to be 100 tow it to frame shop, 100 back, plus a estimate, etc. Stuff adds up quick. This definitely infinitely cleaner than that guys project though. So a consensus is starting to form. I walk in with my mud app open. Say I got 1800 and here's why. Pull up this thread ,go to classifieds, even call Dan and say "oh what's taht you say Dan? 12-15 grand IF I can find parts." Im expecting the title and keys shortly after. I'm not even taking more than 2800 cash with me so I dint get impulsive.

Either your camera totally sucks or you got a ghost that needs to be dealt with. Your pics got this creepy vibe going with the transparent man doing the inspection.

Those were sent to me. I'm going cash in hand tmrw. Heres my thoughts.

Get a used aftermarket winch bumper. Equal cost to a oem.

Find a snorkel fender some ones parting out.

Buy a real hood cause of the attached grill.

Pay someone to put on frame machine.

Buy lights

Get a new MAF and the intake tube etc

Get an alignment if needed

Do all pm.

Add mud. Smile.

If I can do it for 6k and have a Franken 470 that I can never sell not sure I "won" that deal. That would make me more money than brains guy. I look at it like guys spend 20 grand building Rock buggies this is my "pointless waste of money" I guess.

Coming soon to craigslist. Clean 02 470 never been off pavement no accidents lol. No I'm going to guilt free scratch and bang this bad boy.

At the risk of losing my beer, you could always go this route...

Wow that's insane. Seems like it would be expensive to build that. More than repairing this. However I'll buy you a case of beer if you want to build it!!!

Realistic functional garage hack project or not?

Put the locked 80 axles on the LX? Are we entering fantasy land? Aka "black hole of money"

Slee did it for a rich person. I'm not.

Just wondering what I can create out a 95 locked 80 and this LX. I'm offering him 1800 cash max 2400. I don't even need this truck. Just one of those things too much bad ass truck to waste.

So I'll get it and ask for ideas see what we come up with.

Another source for estimating repair costs/current value might be going to a site like this and searching for Lexus LX470.

See if you can find one in similar shape to the one you're looking at, and see what they have listed as the "ACV" and "Repair Cost" (your price should be "ACV" - "Repair Cost" or lower)

If you can find more than one example, even better, you can show the current owner a "trend".

Well he sold it for 3500. Not to me, hoping to a mud member who saw this. The buyer said he needed parts for his 470. Most likely a parter or flipper. I had the seller join mud. He created an account and is looking for a 04-06 lx470,200,570 to replace. Hi Chris. Guys help him out. Thanks
