That's real nice. I really dig that rear bumper. Nice rig all together.

Excellent overall build!!!!! Nice work on the wheels (second compliment). Which thread inspired the aux fan mod on your LX450?

Looks
Regarding the Slee caster plates; did you end up welding a bead or just left it without welding?

Salue

I will do that this week. At work we have a buzz box. I will use that to throw a couple of beads. For the time being it will be fine. :)

is that the hardware supplied with the caster plates? I'd throw some stover nuts on those.

Yep thats the hardware. I also soaked the threads in red locktite. They are not going any where IMHO. Its hard to see but there are also lock washers on there as well.

This is where I first got the idea. https://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-tech/160331-jdm-aux-fan-install-doesnt-get-easier.html However I did not like the idea of me leaving the fan on coming out the next morning to find my trucks battery was dead so i thought and came up with fan power that was switched with the ignition.

Here is my writeup on my install: Or summary of my troubles.....:bang:

https://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-tech/326290-caution-idiot-wiring-need-aux-fan-wiring-help.html

Since this install I've cleaned up the wiring to use heat shrink weather connectors and trimmed some to the excess wire that was seen in the last photo. I also upgraded to a 50A relay. The other one is fine I just wanted the extra amperage just in case.

Very nice! How long did the rear bumper take?

So, just for clarification are you running 850j up front and 863 on the rear?

Nevermind, just saw your sig. Doah. Nice rig, mine aspires to grow up just like yours!

AWESOME!!

I can't remember how much these things cost (and am afraid to find out again!), but it definitely is on my (long) list of mods!

Congrats!!

Took about 8 weeks from order to delivery. It took 4 weeks from Cali to Florida via freight. Luke had a delay in fabrication due to being short of bumper shells. Once he got them in he had it built, powder coated, and ready for shipment in 4 days.

Well worth the wait.

What's going on with this caster plate?

Those bolts have to be that short, since you have to install them from the inside of the bracket. You can not get a long bolt all the way through like you do on the driver side due to diff and panhard rod bracket interference.

The thread does not go through the nut all the way, but it is a fine thread 10.9 bolt. We could have opted to go with a thinner jam nut, but those are just about impossible to find in the M18.

What is not right is that the flat washers should have been used with the M18 x 90 bolt on the other side. This only uses a lock washer on the outside, with no washer on the inside. This is to get the longest possible thread engagement.

I just checked the instructions and it is not clear from the current version on how to use the washers. I will change the instructions.

Gotcha - I figured it was something like that.

<< Learn something new everyday. I see now why people would want to weld the plates as well.

EDIT: If one pulled the panhard bar out of it's lower mounting point, would it be possible to then slide a 'normal' length bolt & spacer into position similar to the driver's side?

Thanks Christo, That makes more sense I was looking at the photo and was unclear so....

Anyways it will be an easy fix.

Just give the bolts some viagra once installed. They will get a little longer.

Seriously though, interesting...

update: on the bolt. Got the DS side bolt pulled, removed washer, and re-installed in 5 minutes. Full contact now. :)

I'm really digging the caster plates. They are so much better than the drop brackets I had on before. They hung down and were waiting to get ripped off. :)

glad I could contribute to the project by taking the old bumper corner off your hands! Very nice looking rig!

Awsome looking truck. Really nice bumper I had no idea that 4X4 Labs existed, really nice product.

that's great looking, I know what you are going thru since I just got mine installed after wanting it for the past 6 years.

here's the opener, but I'm thinking mine is upside down?

seemed only right to use a finely crafted Porter on a finely Porter crafted tool.
