Picked this up today on the west side of FL. 1974 fj40 all original except for some extra holes in the dash and a bit of swiss cheese metal on the drivers side floor. Good enough for now!:)

Pics!!! And what's your wife think of it? ;)

I think you'll be getting some welding practice ... What happened to the 62 you wanted ?!?

can't get the darn pic to load. ehhhhhhh i'll email them to carter he's savy enough to know how to post. actually everyone but me is savvy enough to get the pics up here. fortunately the wife wants me to enjoy life and do what ever makes me happy. :) as long as there is no PYT involved. hopefully burnie (land cruiser genius) can get this fj40 road worthy with in the next 5 weeks (re-run dec 7th weekend). carter pm me your email.

The gold roll bar, bezel, gauge bezel and other gold brackets will be the first things to go.

Nice solid original truck except for the paint, it's just been sitting for a long time and just needs to be gone completely thru to be road worthy.

The plan is to keep it a close-to-stock trail rig so his nice 40 doesn't get too messed up. Also for me to borrow when my rig is down :grinpimp:

Good idea on keeping the other 40 nice!
Look forward to seeing how this one turns out.

So I can see several thousand right out of the gate. 37's, beadlocks, s/o, PS with a ram, lockers F/R, sliders, AND a rollcage! Then an Orion followed by a FI small block :)

I don't think he'll do any of those besides the lockers ;)

Hell we don't even know if the thing isn't seized or not!

no major mods, just replace all the rubber hoses, fuel lines, clutch master and slave, breaks, swapping a 77 front axel with disc (safety 1st), clean out fuel tank, rebuild carb, looking for tires, front seats and did i mention sanding and painting over the gold !! my "get it road worthy" budget was 1000 to 1500. it now looks im going to 2x that. im thinking about pulling the lockers out of the refurbished yellow fj40 and put them in the green beater. only concern is does the 1f have enough power to pull the taller gearing of the 7.30diff the arb are bolted to.

Did you go through the steps I gave you for starting the engine yet?

Probably start the engine before swapping in disc brakes.

You say drums like they're a bad thing!
