Good point... Thanks

vvvvvvvvvYOU WANTED ME TO KEEP THREAD CLEANER RIGHT vvvvvvvvvvv:whoops:

Andy is a questionable individual regardless. We worked on a vehicle together the other night. He held the shaft and I removed the nuts.

Keep your minds out of the gutter. We removed the driveshaft and flanges from another 100 Series with a blown ring gear. It was a dirty job on the ground, in the snow, 33 degrees. FWIW, this was another 4-pinion type and another ring gear break.

That's too bad for him. He texted me the day after, seems like a lot of 4-pin diffs going. I'm sure I am next for the blown diff, I keep my fingers crossed each time I wheel.

Why yes, yes I am. ... [STRIKE]and I still have '02Beasts shaft lube all over my T-case knob.[/STRIKE]

OK I'll take the last 4 out of 4 replies and stick to OEM. Anyone know the best place to buy reman'ed OEM stuff?

Toyota does not offer a reman for this application, new shafts only. The current published list price is $473.13 a copy. Wholesale is in the 355 dollar range.

Not bad compared to an 80 Series Birfield at $763.19 per........ And that is jist the Birf, none of the other bits included.

CDan can you tell me why the inner CV joint assembly is more expensive than the entire axle assembly?

Nope.

Perhaps the "CV axle assembly" has been priced to compete with the aftermarket. Or, perhps, it has been mistakenly under-priced.

If anyone is interested in a trail spare I will clean and rebuild the entire assembly. I already have OEM rebuild kit from Beno at Lowe Toyota and smooth band clamps from Pfran. And as stated before, never had a single problem with this axle except for the leaky clamps. Make me an offer gentlemen
