Hey guys,

Does anyone have a source for one of these?

It seems like a great solution to make the hitch usable all the time without fooling around with the OEM cover. With that cover off, it looks like crap.

These look like they'd be a great compromise, but the only sources I have seen for them is shipped from China on Ebay and Aliexpress for well over $100.

Thanks.

Cut a hole in your hitch cover. And trim it out?
That’s what I did. A dremel and a careful 20 minutes will get the job done.

Exactly what I was about to post. Mark your line with a sharpie, cut with a dremel cutting disk, debur with a sanding drum on the dremel, and trim out with flexible trim (I got it on amazon for my winch fairlead hole when I had a hidden winch mount). I suspect you'll have trouble accessing both the hitch pin and the chain hook eyes, but you'll sort it out.

There is no way you’ll be able to reach the hole in the receiver for the pin with that cover on. In fact most people trim the inner plastic back from the bumper skin because it’s still difficult with the cover off.

With the right sized hole and SOME hitch accessories, you could put the cover (with the trimmed out hole in it) on after the hitch accessory was pinned in. For example, a hitch shackle with the shackle removed, or one of those one piece forged ball mounts. There's almost always something in my hitch, alternating between bike racks, drop hitches, and occasionally a hitch shackle, so I threw my cover away, but maybe if you always had one thing in the hitch it MIGHT be worth making a pretty cover with a hole in it if you were so inclined.

Indeed—lots of ifs and mights though. Its just a hitch, life is too short 😎
