I'm contemplating trying out a couple of different brackets (GM, Titan, etc..) and seeing if one of those works and if it does, return the others. Fabbing up a custom bracket might take too long. My only hesitation is drilling into the door jam. I don't like the idea of that.
The light output is the same as the straight, you just get more light on the sides. Good point on the snorkel. I was thinking about the TJM but I guess I'll stick to the arb. The TJM would definitely limit where you could mount the light bar. Here is one night shot. I thought I had more, but I guess notThough it may be noisy that thing is beautiful. How's the light output on the curved 50" compared to the straight version? It also looks like where you mounted wouldn't work with the TJM snorkel.
I built it custom. Here's a few picsSorry for going off topic! ^^ @benc ^^ what kind of bumper is that and would you mind to shoot me a few more pics of it (different angles)?
I'll post back on how my light bar mounts to compensate.
Thanks, have you made anymore progress on your mounts? Also the light bar I got was from eBay. I think I paid $250 and the first One they sent didn't work so it was kind of a pain. The second one came and it worked but I had to tighten up all the lens bolts. I would say you would be better off buying from one of the 4x4 shops on eBay or Amazon because I think they test them before they ship them out. It's the same light most of the time and you will pay a little more but there is less chance of getting a broken one.@benc looking good. Nice work.
I'm happy with the location. As for the wiring, i ran the wires in the channel on the windshield trim and wired into my factory fog lights. I don't remember the wattage but I did get the 50". I think if you want to be removable it would be best to put a plug up top. I use mine a lot on the road as well as offroad so I have no need to have it easily removable. Once you see how good you can see at night you will have a hard time being happy with your headlights. I drive a lot of country roads though. It would be a different story or you live in the city.@benc No. I just roughly started something when i was able to scratch out some time over the weekend. Do you like the placement of your lights? Would you have had them higher, lower, further forward or back?
Ultimately, I think I'll buy them through Amazon. I just trust their return policy a bit more. What wattage did you get?
What is your wiring situation? How did you wire your lights? Where do you run your wire? Can you disconnect your lights? I don't plan on leaving them on my ride the whole time, just when I go off roading.
