Anyone else notice that all the glass on our trucks are etched with our VIN numbers. I have never seen or noticed it on any other vehicle

They used to do it in the uk. I haven't seen it in a while. It is to stop people stealing the trucks and selling the parts as they are easily identified. Also it is harder to ring the car with this added identification.

The South East Toyota distributer does this dock side to most of the Toyotas being sold. They usually bundle it with a wax job and then try to charge something like $699.

I figured it might be for theft purposes. But I would think that a land cruiser would be on the bottom of the list for a thief to steal due to it being more exclusive than say a Honda Civic.

Based on your information, someone stole my windshield.

I bought a 1984 mini truck years ago that the previous owner used a hand engraver and engraved all the windows with the vin by hand.

No he did not have skills.

In fact seemed to have a tremor or at least that is what it looked like.

I don't think I have any picts anymore but will take a look.
