Anyone ever heard of these guys?

www.cumminstools.com

They have a "truck load" tool sale this weekend.

They sale winches - 9500lbs for $500
tons of tools -

Dunno know if they are good quality - no-name brand must not be right?

Thanks -

Derek

they come by here once a year, kinda like a Harbour freight on wheels.

yup......a truck load of mostly crap-ola.........

Some of the tools are name brand stuff, I doubt the winch is :)

thats kinda cool, I love HF-crap its disposable and I don't have to worry about it being stolen.

Tools by the pound on wheels!!!

FWIW some of the stuff is decent and yep some is crap. My uncle has one of the Cummins 4 1/2" grinders. Gets run pretty hard and still works fine. I think he has some of their prybars as well that were pretty decent. Can't speak for the rest of the stuff though.

Thanks for the heads up guys.

There are couple of actual Cummins stores in the KC area. As stated above, they are good for some things. I have bought a set of pliers, vice grips, and adjustable wrenches. Each came as a set of three sizes in a handy canvas roll case, about $10 a set. Decent enough quality to have as an extra set in the back of the truck.

The retail stores will also have some name brand stuff, either new or factory reconditioned. I bought a 10in Ryobi miter saw for $79 as a reconditioned by Ryobi unit, works as brand new.

Some of the lesser quality tools may be okay if it is a tool you only use once in while.

I agree with everything above, but know your prices. Take the ad from Home Depot, Shucks, or whereever but pay attention. Cummins tools was here a while back and I went...........EVERYTHING I was interested in was cheaper somewhere else locally.
