I know people have been hit by lightening and survived but something tells this lightening bolt would not have been one of those. When I first came up on it I thought someone had dropped a tree and cut it up by all the green branches scattered about.

Impressive stuff, experienced that years ago while hunting, same place I spent time the day before, smelled the pitch before I got there.

I was about 100 yards from a lightning strike on the rim about 20 years ago. Scared the crap out of me.

Found this 1992 78 LC Prado near Banff, Alberta. It's a turbo diesel with roughly 160,000km! Guy said he picked it up recently for about $4K. Oh and he currently lives in it. My wife's family was standing in the parking lot trying to figure out why my brother-in-law and I were going through this LC. It's in good shape. Just a couple of minor rust spots.

About 20 years ago we had a tree struck in the yard right behind me about 2 am. It DID sound like a cannon shot. It was raining really hard and they lightening was strong enough it turned my neighbors palm tree into a tiki torch. Several of us in the hood ran out there and grabbed all the garden hoses in the area and started hosing it down, in the rain. That really felt weird. We almost had it out by the time the fire trucks got there.

The scariest one I had was about 40 years ago in the suburbs of Boston. I was riding with my buddy in a rag top Jeep, and lightening hit the transformer on a pole right next to us. Pole turned into toothpicks, and the transformer turned into shrapnel. We had a lot of crap land on the jeep, but none of it came thru the top. Just lucky on that one! Jolhn

Yup! After seeing these pics, I think I have a new direction that I will take my cruiser... :bang:

When I was a kid in oklahoma, I recall many times being out fishing before a storm and there would be so much static in the air, the jig I cast wouldn't hit the water. I knew it was time to pack it in for the day, and sure enough a few minutes later lightning would strike a little too close by.

Sent from a Friend living in Tucson:

Hi,

My friend Joe Sheehey is a member of the Arizona Bighorn Sheep Society. He maintains watering tanks for them and trail cameras in the Silverbell and Waterman Mountains west of Tucson. Here’s 1 of 2 emails he sent me with pix of some rams taken by a trail camera on Silverbell Peak. The bobcat was probably very wise not to tangle with that ram standing on the watering tank.

After what we saw in the QT parking lot last nite, that is probably the Gangland Task Force in Detroit. Tempe cops are now driving blinged out Dodge? mini vans with neons and side curtains!!
